In my opinion their all great cars. Personally I think the SE-R and SRT-4 are cheaply built. I have an 03 SE-R and the interior sucks and my cousin has an 04 SRT-4 which has had afew interior pieces replaced. While the GTI and MSP have get interiors. All these cars base models have been on the market for afew years now. Personally I would go with the GTI because of all the aftermarket performance support it has available. The SE-R has nothing close to that. The SRT-4 has factory performance support and thats awesome. As for the MSP good luck locating a new one. I did see a used one afew months ago at a Dodge dealer.

GTI 1.8t hands down! The interior is sooooo nice and comfy (with the leather of course) And youll think your cruising a mercedes or audi. Get the APR chip and leave those msp's and ser's behind and run with the srt's in a much better built vehicle. But thats just me...

my gf's bro has a 03 gti and i like the comfort and luxary of the car...plus the chip and easy mods u can do to it, but he like sht ehandlin and stock setup of the car...thats y i bought my msp...it came with everything i wanted :)

DO NOT GET THE SRT4! Dear lord please don't. Yeah, fast as fvck, and engine is "bulletproof", but what people overlook....What about the rest of the car??? That thing is going to fall to pieces!!!! Think of and GOOD looking neon you have seen...not too many, paint is s***, everything is cheap...DONT DO IT!

Not sure what a car from 1995 has to do with a 2002+....

Have you seen a neon driving down the road 2002+ and thought damn that is a high quality car????? NOPE. The srt-4 is still a neon, same s***.

Yes, but is it a 2002 with a blown engine, broken tranny and broken A/C? haha

I've test drive an SRT-4 and the build quality isn't amazing, but the power more than makes up for it. If you want a car with a pretty interior, buy a VW...

this is how i see it...
1. GTI 1.8T
2. MSP
3. SE-R Spec-V
4. SRT-4

number 1 and number two are really really close. they are both really good cars...hell...thats why i am on this site too. it depends on what you are looking for in a car and how much you are willing to spend. however my 3rd and 4th choices are only there because you supplied them...

when it came time for me to pick i went with the GTI because i couldn't believe how it was such a civilized and luxurious car...until you jumped on the throttle. i mean...damn this car has some balls and you wouldn't really know it while sitting in the interior of the car. it is a pretty unassuming car and chances are the Mazdaspeed would draw a lot more attention. i definately recommend driving all of the cars and going from there.

as for upgrades for the GTI 1.8T. with a chip, CAI, DV, N75J valve you can be pushing around 215HP 245TQ. you can also upgrade the exhaust, go with a FMIC...there really is a lot of stuff you can do to make it very very quick. there are turbo upgrades and the stock engine can handle up to around 400HP before something goes wrong.

if you like the flash of a body kit and such of the MSP, look into a 20th Anniversary GTI or the 337. if you are going more for a lil bit more stealth, go with the regular GTI 1.8T.

yall find out in 3 years when the paint starts peelin and everything starts fallin apart...thats when hers went to s***.....dogde hasnt changed their buildin techinque with the newer neons...my friends 00 is already havin massive mechanical issues.....im not getitn on the fact its a neon...cus i fock drive a protege...im just sayin from past expecince...dogde didnt do a good job on the neon...even vdub has issues with their gti......good luck on ur desicion

Friend's stock Jetta 1.8T dynoed at 173whp. I was impressed, the 1.8T is evil.

I think the SRT-4 would be a fun car to own for like 2 years, mod it, beat the hell out of it, and sell it.

yeh i like the gti and srt-4....either one can have u bustin alot of fast cars for cheap....but i wanted something complete and ready out of the box....i couldnt afford a evo so the msp was next best imoh......my gf's bro is gettin the 1 bar apr chip in a month....im gonna get owned :(

the gti is pretty tight, i like the fact that you can bump up the power massively for minimum bucks.
only thing i keep hearing is that the stock suspension is kinda crappy, but thats an easy fix

The SRT4 has a faster top speed, quicker 0-60 (by over a second!), better qtr mile time, has more HP, more Torque, and makes both sooner in the RPM range. A higher redline, and an arguably more comfortable interior.
Where the hell did you get those specs? About 1/2 of them are wrong for the MSP. The interior isn't more comfortable either...the only + it has is better side bolstering of the seats. (jerkit)

yeh, fun part of one then one production year lol.....my gf's bro did have clutch issues at 13k.....1k over and they aint cover s***......total bs cus he babies his car and its all stock right now
