Weird noise from Forge BPV

I installed my Forge BPV about a week ago, and all seemed normal until today. I noticed that sometimes the unit does not make the normal noise when recirculating the boost, but instead I hear a clicking noise inside the cabin. Sometimes it will make the normal noise and it will be directly followed by the clicking noise.
I know it was not doing this originally, and I tried searching but with no luck. Anyone have any ideas or insight into this?

is it a "ping" sound? if so than that's just what it does. It's the forge sound

It is not the normal ping noise i am talking about. After the ping, it makes a clicking/ticking noise that can be easily heard in the cabin. Lately it has been making the click noise even when i barely accelerate or take my foot off the pedal.
I am using the blue spring with 2 shims. Do you think i should remove a shim?

Yah. Everything is installed correctly. I drove it this morning while it was cold out and it didn't make the noise. I am thinking it happens when the car is hot and I am getting on it a little.
The sound almost sounds like it is coming from the speakers but I don't think it is. I turned off the stereo and it still made the noise.
I think I am going to remove one of the shims and see what happens, but I am definitely open to suggestions.

take it apart and inspect it for anything odd... I just installed mine I'm using just the yellow spring, and it seems fine. I'm totally stock, and don't have a boost gauge, but I don't know why everyone insists on using the blue + 2 shims. I tried the blue+1, and it seemed to hardly be working the yellow seems better

Interesting -- I heard mine "click" today while running errands. I wonder if it needs a touch of lubrication.

Mike,
Did you just get yours recently, or have you had it for a while. Mine is one of the new series - and I can't remember why, but they i think they switched suppliers for something due to the older units having bad rings?
Maybe it just needs to be broken in.

I have yet to hear this with my Forge BPV.

Shame on me for inspecting mine for the first time since I installed it.(6 or so months). The lube that Forge uses was cooked. It was dirty inside. After cleaning and adding new grease, it works and sounds much better.

I'd have to check the date I got mine -- it's been at least two months (1,200 miles or so). It still "pings" as it should and I only heard the click once. They don't come with any maintenance information. Ah reckon ah'll call 'em an' find out 'bout that. Mine had no obvious lubrication at all.

Yah it sounds like a skipping cd player. I have not had the noise for 2 days now. I opened it up and everything is good. I am thinking that maybe the spring was stuck/crooked/just needed to be worn in a little??
Fingers crossed that the dreaded noise doesn't return.

G'damn noise came back today. Only diff betwen today and yesterday was the temp.
It only makes the noise when over about 2600 RPMs, and it occurs inbetween shifts or if I just let off the gas. This is so damn weird. I am about to put the stocker back on and see if it goes away. I just have no idea what else it could be.

well, it sounds like you're just describing it happening whenever the BPV fires off. have you greased the spring yet? use a synthetic grease like mobil 1

Sac,
The noise is not the bypass valve releasing/recirculating the air - I hear thwe sword noise fine.
The noise is like some kind of electrical feedback almost. Like previously stated, the noise sounds like it comes through the speakers. I really don't wanna take the car into the stealership, but I fear I may have to.
