Weight reduction?? YES Please..

I didn't copy and paste, but I did use what I learned from that thread.

I'm kinda looking for a second opinion, here.

powersteering is driven by the fluid, which is hydraulic fluid. much like brakes use hydraulic fluid. the fluid is only used for the powersteering, and when the system is removed, you dont need the hydraulic fluid, because whats it going to be used for then?
if you remove powersteering, everything goes. your car will still turn, lol.

Does it really feel that much better without PS???? Oh, and I ******* hate AC...some cars handle it well, with AC blowing cold, it doesn't affet the car that much...however, some cars, it just ******* kills the car....I wouldn't know on mine currently...as I only twice had the AC on, both when I was parked...once at the dealership, and another day when I was waiting in the car for someone...and I thought the dash was gonna melt.

Cars designed to have no power steering (ie: proper steering ratio) = good

I wouldn't want to remove the power steering from a car with a quick ratio that was made for PS. I think it would make it a b**** to drive. Also, doesn't the fluid have something to do with the lubrication of the system? Couldn't stuff theoretically bind up?
someone lied to ya =)

i might be able to do without PS, but NOT w/o A/C...(headshake
more power to ya, with the weight savings though man, I'll be that livened her up a bit :D

ive been without power steering/ac for almost a year and i dont really miss it too much. but it really made a difference on my car... All the components combined are well over 150lbs...atleast

Turn that car into your daily driver and you'll be ripped from the belly-button up in no time. :p
