WEB Mazdaspeed Protege Transmission.

Need a Mazdaspeed Protege Transmission. Thought my clutch went out but thats not the case. Shop put in the new clutch. Made some whining in reverse and still wouldn't move when trying to engage 1st-5th.. just revved. Ugh

The diff broke, if you can find a diff by itself youll save yourself some money just swapping it out, but if a shop is doing it....maybe not.

Yea a shop is gonna be doing the work. Gonna cost an arm and leg to pull apart the transmission.

Fluid was clean when drained. I was at a stop light then once it turned green I heard some loud scraping and barely got the car in to a parking lot. Drove it a few more feet then nothing.

Put it in 1st- 5th and the engine just revs up. Now it just barely moves under its own power in reverse but makes a lot of squealing.

That is 100% your diff letting go. Had that exact thing happen to me in rush hour traffic. Look for a replacement diff, preferably something other then stock as stock ones are very weak.

Yea I already got a p5 transmission in it. May buy a new diff for the MSP haven't decided what I'm doing with the car yet

You might actually want to check the axels too... just to be sure that one of them didn't break like I had a prob with last year.
