WAX on roof rack... grrrrrrr....

This happened the first time I waxed the 5. Now I put masking tape on the rack when I detail.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I'll definitely end up using them, those damned marks bug the ish out of me. I can say I will be using some masking tape too on my next wax!

Well, I detailed the car this weekend and since I couldn't go out and get the products recommended and my roommates didn't appreciate me trying to use the peanut butter method (they did the shopping this week ) I ended up using vegetable oil - and it WORKED! Just in case I put it on before I washed it and the oil must have broken down the wax because it came right off and my rails look great now. I figure the oil was what did it w/the pb method so why not regular cooking oil. Just a bit on a paper towel and a little elbow grease did the trick. Thanks a lot for the recommendations everyone!

sounds stupid but black shoe polish works well too.
