You can definitely run it on a stock internal DD. Its only going to be on when you are in boost. The benefits include higher resistance to detonation, lowered intake temps, ability to advance timing, cleans your cylinders. Meth is awesome.
Yes it does in essence make it more safe to turn up the boost but you have to have a good tune before you go cranking the boost. I'd recommend a j&s safeguard as well. That will definitely save your motor.

Yeah not to mention you track your car what like every weekend and how long were you making that power beating it at the track. I'd say it helped your motor last a lot longer than it probably normally would have.
Never tracked the car, ever. I autocrossed once this year, and four times last year.
My car did not snap a rod from detonation though, which is what the J&S saves your motor from. I honestly believe I was just at the mechanical limit for that part.
So for years I thought that you tracked your car all the time? Thats a let down.
