Water/Methanol Injection, Anyone Use It?

You can definitely run it on a stock internal DD. Its only going to be on when you are in boost. The benefits include higher resistance to detonation, lowered intake temps, ability to advance timing, cleans your cylinders. Meth is awesome.

Wow, sounds like a great upgrade for real! So I suppose it makes safer to kick up the boost on stock internals?
 
Yes it does in essence make it more safe to turn up the boost but you have to have a good tune before you go cranking the boost. I'd recommend a j&s safeguard as well. That will definitely save your motor.

Not true, unfortunately. Just broke a rod on 11.5psi with J&S, standalone (w/ dyno tune from a renowned tuner), and methanol.

Maximum PSI I would even consider pushing on stock internals would only be 10psi. It seems like anything over that and forged internals are required.

you had a good tune,but it wasn't a safe tune for the fs motor. When you start making power like you had you will need to pull timing down low to take some of stress off the rods at peak tq.
 
Yeah, I'm not looking for record breaking power, but a more safe and reliable engine with decent power gains when I do up the boost.

Yeah not to mention you track your car what like every weekend and how long were you making that power beating it at the track. I'd say it helped your motor last a lot longer than it probably normally would have.

Never tracked the car, ever. I autocrossed once this year, and four times last year.

My car did not snap a rod from detonation though, which is what the J&S saves your motor from. I honestly believe I was just at the mechanical limit for that part.

So for years I thought that you tracked your car all the time? Thats a let down.

Now are you talking about real methanol, or are you spraying water into your engine (boom01)?
 
Joka1 hit 22psi for a few months on a stock block before it blew. Think he still holds that record.
