Wassup with my brakes

So about 6 months ago I went to get my brakes done and they cut them rotated them and cleaned the entire brake system. However,my brakes started to have this grinding feeling( metal grinding metal) to them when I would slow down a little bit like at a stop sign. I went back 2 months later and they changed my brakes again ( I get ceremic pads). So I was like yeah they fixed my problem, not!!! My brakes are once again making that dang nasty feeling of grinding against metal. Also, they freaking squeak now WTF, I am so aggravated (pissed) because I dont know if they are playing games with me or its just my brakes.

I went to Sears and Firestone and they both said my brakes look brand spanking new but I am like why are they making noise and feeling like this " Well because they are new blah, blah, blah.

I just need opinions because I never had this problem when I got them done before and I dont want to pay for them to get fixed again by someone else but I just might have to.

since you got the 2 front disc and 2 rear drums, maybe since they didnt check the drums that could be it?

maybe you need to have them look at it and maybe have to get new shoes (a drum's pad) or just have it lubricated and inspected.

im not sure, but next time you have them check it out ask if they looked at the drums too

I had the same problem when I installed my cross drilled/slotted rotors with (metal performance) brake pads. They grinded like crazy and sqeaked. As a resolution it was the type of material my rotors vs my brake pads. I changed to Ravens performance (ceremic pads) and it went away.

I still felt the grind and the sqeak, but it took about 500 miles for it to go away. Big difference from those performance metal ones. My suggestion to you is go to the dealer ship and ask them what kind of rotors/pads come stock. And do a comparison. Let me know what you find.

I'm having this issue right now ever since I had my 4 discs and 4 ceramic pads changed.

After a few times of taking it appart, cleaning it and lubricating it again and again... I had the 2 front discs and pads changed again (for free)... and it started doing it again.

The garage is investigating it right now... the stock pads are apparently ceramic too... so I donno anymore. :S They even tried a different kind of lubricant.

Update:
Did a bunch of research on it 'cause I'm sick of it. Apparently the Protege5 needs the high quality pads or the Mazda brand of pads or chances are it'll make that noise for ever and you end up (like me) having it cleaned and greased again and again and again and again and... yeah you get the point... So chances are yours is like that too.

So called my garage up, explained and they are supose to call me back (probably to do their own research).

I'm not really surprised though... ever since I had that car it's been picky like hell for the parts and stuff I change in it. BUT it's all worth it for my baby. That car HAS to be a girl and a snob one too.

Never know... might be the same issue for you too. Just thought I'd let you know.

ceramic pads!!

I have it on good authority from the mechanic who works on my car, that ceramic pads are no good.

They are, it depends on the compound that's in it. Some are cheap some are good. Just like anything else.

But then it depends what you need them for.
