I just bought myself an 03.5 MSP (dance)

I think I have that clunking noise thing =(
Thats about the only grip I have so far about the car.

Anyways, I plan on RallyCrossing / AutoCrossing this season. I have a lil under $1G to spend for now: So whats the best bang for the buck upgrades? I hope to hit some local meets if you guys do that kind of stuff here.

Quick question: Do the 3 emblems have any holes on the back of them? cause I want to take them all off.

welcome to the forums man. you live in beaverton too? i'm in the same boat as you my car is completely stock and i got just under a grand to mod it wit at the moment.

personally i think your best mods if you have about a grand would be to get a midpipe, DSMConvert's AFC, and an upgraded side mount intercooler. i think these would give you a pretty good power for the money ratio considering you're gonna go rallycross/autocross. or you could do a midpipe, the AFC, and tires, and build a cheap intercooler sprayer to help with heatsoak on the stock side mount intercooler.

I was looking at that one. And since you said your from Beaverton I just assumed =) So do you plan on doing any auto X or things like that? I may head out to the Gymkhana at PIR this Sunday.

Welcome to the site mang...Hey Im in Beaverton too..... We need to meet up, there is a couple more here in BEaverton as well....

Awesome man...Is yours titanium?

Yup Yup Ti gray. Wow 3 MSP in one town. I thought it was suppose to be a rare car. A meet would be cool. I'm up for one.

Which 3 MSP are you counting? There's many more than 3. They made about 6k of those cars (overall).

I've got one and there's another Titanium in Vancouver I've seen a couple times.

if yoru'e going to autoX the best mod you can do is a set of R compounds & 15" rims. And a driver training course (that was the best $200 I ever spent).

If it was on baseline around 7 or 8ish it was prob me. I still havent seen any other msp's since i bought my car in beaverton or portland

That could have been Baseline actually. I don't recall exactly, it was over by those new-ish shopping center(s). And that time of day was about right too.

W3RD.

There is a yellow one out there in Beaverton as well. Seen it a few times on/around TV Highway. Also saw a black one around washington Square a while back, I think it was one of DayOh's(Dale) friends.

I think I was at Safeway on Sunday night, I was also right by Intel since both my houses are right by Intel. My wife and I have the first MSP in Oregon, spicy orange #1668. BTW they only made @4000, not 6000.

This will instantly put you into one of the fastest ($$$$) classes in SCCA. What you should do is come out, run, see how you like it on the factory street tires, learn some car control, and look around to see what class appeals to you. Stock - Kuhmo Victoracers 225/45/17 on Team Dynamics wheels and a Scroth Rallye Four seat belt harness. I chose to go into STX, which allows more street freindly mods, AWR motor mounts, full exhaust, some engine control, lots of suspension mods etc. I placed first in every event I have run so far agaist modded WRXs and my car at the time was completely stock!

I have a few new items up my sleeve for this season, BTW Ben, I'll be out to see you soon for some gauges, pod, ss brakelines and a few other items like 2 Sparco Pro 2000 seats with side mounts, hopefully you can cut me a deal! I will need to go next door and get redyno'ed so I'll have to find out when it's available.

4k MSP's based on what? They made right about 2k in every run from what I've read.

600 US orange
250 Canadian Orange
500 Yellow
1150 Black
500 Titanium
500 Sunlight Silver
500 Lazer Blue

=

4000

This was on Mazda's website.

Mazda NA told me they made like 1,400 Titaniums. Same with Blue and Black (give or take.. something near 1k though).... Shrug. It came out to about 2k per run I was told and what most info I've read says.

They posted that info on the site? Crazy. Well, I'd take that over Forum mumbojumbo any day.
