VIS CF deck lid

i think its mostly for looks cuz I doubt the weight difference will be more than 10 lbs

the trunk with the spoiler weighs about the same as the hood. If I had to guess I would say that the CF trunk weighs 10-12 lbs. Personally if you get the trunk I dont think you should get the gas tank cover only because I think it will throw the color scheme of CF across the top and paint on the sides off. I seen a WRX out here with CF doors and throws the whole thing off. Just picture a black square in the middle of nowhere! well thats IMO but hey I could be wrong, might look tight. Never know till you try it. Also if you like the speed w/o the wing I say go for the trunk but if you dont dont get it. Im still trying to tell myself it looks more like a sleeper.

i like the "wingless" look myself, though i've still got mine attached. the trunk has a good look to it. i wanted to do it myself but i've got finances in other areas right now... hehe.

well i "HAD" the c/f trunk on my car last night. it looked pretty good until we got it out side and could see a lot of s*** in the clear coat. so we said **** you to VIS and we are sending it back and im saving the money for FMIC instead now. BUT the trunk fit great, was light as s*** and yes it did have the c/f peice on the back. if it was for all the s*** in the clear i probably would have kept it.

it looked like dust in the clear. probably a one time thing. i dont think they are all going to be like this. i think this one may have just been stored in a bad spot. and sorry no pics of it.

I dont have the "s***" in my clear coat! If I would have seen it I would have sent it back to! Havent had any problems w/ VIS yet, why wont you buy from VIS MIA?

i have the vis hood and besides a small scratch nothing was wrong with it... i planned on buying the trunk this payday but s*** came up so on the 15th of june i will have one!!!! my hood looks great .....fitment and quality are perfect so i will do business with vis again!!! (trunk lid)

I ordered my OEM hood in March. i got lied to for bout 2 months saying they will ship out hood week after week. i would call week after week and they still havent shipped out s*** when i talked to them. turns out they dont have a cf OEM hood for a 2000. so i got my money back. they have HORRIBLE customer service. no one over there knows where they r even standing!

I was giving my opinion so **** off. And any weight savings is a benefit especially since our cars are small they benefit from weight reduction by a greater differential than a heavier car. Dropping weight from both the hood and the deck you can concievable lose around 70lbs. Now I'm sure you've felt the difference between your empty car and when it weighs 70 more lbs. You are also losing that weight above the center of gravity so even better for us people that autocross. If you've ever been to one...and I doubt after saying this, "Therefore the only reason people buy it is for the look," you actually have; you would know they are used for more than just looks (notcool)

The trunk is fiberglass with CF overlay (as stated earlier), so you could save more weight by dieting for a week or not having a full tank of gas. The only reason to buy this is for looks.
