Viper-powered Ram SRT-10

yeah, lets see it come to production with 24's on it....also, everyone is comparing it to last years model Lightning.....The new Lightning will smoke that crap all day long. Have you seen the shifter? Who wants a race truck with a 4' tall shifter. I'm sure it makes for amazing shift characteristics. also, scope the price tag. The new ford is supposed to be $35K with the 5.4L supercharged V8 with supercooler. 12s quaters on street tires (18's btw) and that instantenous "super chiller" blast is the equivlant of a 50hp shot of nitrous. They said 2 minute to refill and it uses the stock AC system so there's not bottle to refill.

What would you rather have? a $35K 12s truck that is easy and cheap to mod or a $50+K 12s truck that is not easy or cheap to mod?

Ford's banking that there's more smart people with money than stupid.

HAHAHAHAHAH lightning won't do a god damn thing to that SRT..please..haha I got to rub my ass against one at the javitts show. You honestly think a lightning will touch that? 5.2 0-60? Lets do some highway pulls..that V10 will swamp the lightning..haha..12s? I don't know about that number..I've heard a few different variations of that.

haha

We're talking about a Ford, and a dodge right? Shouldn't we be trying to guess which one blows up first?

I have to agree that the STR-10 is one hell of a rig. It will outrun the Lightning all day long....not to mention it doesn't have an Automatic tranny to burn up. Even my Diesel truck will outrun a Lightning all day long with some inexpensive mods.

As for the comment made above on the shifer....Just because it has a 4 foot rod coming out of the floor console doesn't mean it can't have short throws. The stock 6spd in my truck has a lot tighter and shorter throws than a stock Protege. Not to mention that Borg Warner T56 tranny that will be in the SRT-10 isn't your average POS. It's IDENTICAL to the one in the viper.

Here are some more specs on the truck:

How does 350,000 miles before a major overhaul is required sound? You'd be surprised how long trucks last even when beat to s***. There are quite a few people on my Dodge Truck forum with over 250K on their engines with no major repairs.

Check out the Wardsauto 10 Best Engines for 2004. You will see that two of them are Dodge.

They're both freakin awesome. I would rather have any one of those 2 instead of my protege.

I think that Dodge SRT-10 pickup will kick some serious ass. I mean, it has a truck skin on a viper pretty much. I'd buy it over the lightning anyday. I have to agree with Mazdadan, Dodge has much better quality than ford. And think a bout it a little 50k for a truck version of the viper compared to the starting price of a regular viper at $81795. THINK

Hey!! Their trucks!!!! Their into the weeds at Turn one!!!! Ha!!! Good for all of you 1/4 mile fanatics, though.

I read somewhere that they were contemplating putting the new hemmi engine in it with 600 or more hp
