Vibrant Exhaust Install

thought you already put it on?

got it put on, didnt think there was any complications, but come to find out that my o2 sensor was installed in front of my CAT. Im attempting to rectify this today. Let you know the outcome.

I got this exhaust installed last week with very little complications, just the nuts at the jpipe didnt fit too well. Can someone tell me the exact dimensions of the allen bolts needed to replace the studs on the Spipe so it can be tightened better.

anyone know if there is a how-to, or anything about extending the O2 sensor, is it just the way you place the wires so they will reach or what?..

Yep. There is a way to run the wire so that you don't have to splice or extend anything.

btw if you haven't gotten the info yet, they are 10M bolts with 1.5thread, should prob. double check just incase but im pretty sure those are them, and there about i dono 1 3/4in or so.. i would get one that is a little shorter like 20mm or so if i remember correctly, gl

I never really got a full answer myself, but i just ended up giving it a shot anyways, and i don't really see much of another way of doing it, and i was able to get plenty of wire that i needed. I basically pulled out the O2 sensor from the top of the engine (carefully) and then i had my dad help me drop it back down but a more direct route, best way i can describe it was that instead of going to the left over the intake mani, i just went straight down on the right going over the rear motar mount, roughly following some of the other wires and such that went down there, i was under the car while my dad fed me the wires and just did trials to see which route worked out best, so that the wires were out of the way, away from heat/anything moving ect... worked out very well, i was happy with the job, zip tied down where i could and all done! i sugest making sure that you dont bolt up your exhaust midpipe before you do this, so you can move it around a lil more to get to the hole for the O2 sensor(mine was on the top of the pipe).. hope this helps

anyone have any problem with the down pipe section where the flex pipe is hitting against the cradle?

yes, its pissing me off too. I didnt change the hangers tho and that is what apparently fixes the problem. I did get a cel after about 2 weeks. I think its something with the 02.

i replaced my o2 when i put the exhaust on....im thinking of taking off the cradle and beating the area that is hitting to make clearance...ive already adjusted the hangers to pull up so its not as bad as it was

I have had this exact same problem, and ive been trying to think of a way to fix it, i have the CS hangers and its only really rattles when im close to stalling or at low rpms going into first gear, my exhaust was really close to my lip too, but so far so good on that, i also was thinking about trying to bend the support brace or w/e it is, but i think im going to wait until i get my cs mount inserts in first and see what happens, and maybe see if i can find some high heat rubber stripes or maybe the high heat silicone and just applying it under the flex pipe area, so if it does it, it hits the silicone/rubber.. but its just an idea.. ill have to test a few things prob.

-also, Mikeski, did you get your CEL read at autozone?, so they can print out one of those analysis sheets or w/e, if so what did it say?

na, my buddy owns a motorsports shop here and they installed it. they extended the sensor and a couple weeks later the cel came on. I took it back for them to do the diagnostics and he said it had something to do with that o2 sensor, I havent had time to drop it off yet. Im guessing that due to the rattling, one of the wires coulda came loose.

Yep, I used the Kartboy hangers and they worked very well. Just a b**** to get on and off the hangers b/c they're so tight.

^^ haha, well i have the CS hangers, and it still hits it some times, not too much, should it pretty much go away when i get the CS MM inserts in?

well.. theres one small difference that MIGHT be why, i really dont think so, but you never know, because it does not seem to change the angle/way it sits under the car, is that while my exhaust was laid out on my living room floor before the install i got it ready and put the cs hangers on, and i didn't realize that there were 2 different size holes.. soo, i tried to get the one with the smaller hole off of the hanger bar near the Cat, eventually i used some wd4, and clamps, (after doing my best myself, which really was better attempt than with the clamps) i ended up ripping it.. so i have 1 cs hanger and 1 stock hanger on the Cat area of the hangers, and i really really dont want to pay $40 or w/e it was for a whole new pack, i don't know if i can just buy 1 replacement, if i could then sweet! where at.. but i have not looked into a whole lot yet.. there's also a lot of other possible reasons why my could be rattling and yours not, but it does not happen often, so im going to wait until the mount inserts are in, if i find anything helpful along the way ill be sure to post it, whether largely helpfully or not, always good to have more information with these things.

-also, i think that my mid section hangs a little low, not much but i would like it if it was not so low, so if i can find anyway to tighten, lift that section, that would basically solve my problem with the cross-member vibrations.

Replace that rubber hanger and your problems will go away. Call Corksport and see if you can buy just one. Doubt you can, though..
