i have read around on "how to" change valve seals/valve springs without removing the head with either jamming a rope or by buying a special fitting and putting pressure in the cylinders to stop the valve from falling. my question is has anyone ever done this on their MSP? another thing is i dont get how to get the clip off of the top of the valve, and last question is are the shims in the top of the lifter always relatively the same thickness? i measured most of them off an old head and they were from .125" to .131". any help is greatly appreciatted.

All shims are different. you want .011" COLD LASH.Just reshimmed today, they don't wear much at all engine's well maintained. You can swap them around if you need or order them from the dealer.Royal Oak huh.

but have you reshimmed or done valve work with the head still on? i am just trying to avoid removing it. yup, royal oak. basically 13 and campbell if you know those crossroads.

Gotcha, no just changed cams and checked the lash with head on, it's easy to pull the head so why don't you do it? Grew up at 12 and southfield.

Thats what i would do, I pulled mine in 1hr 45min. Have someone deck the head too while its off. I would just have machine shop do it all then too. I only paid $120 for them to grind new seats for my bigger valves, install them with new valve seals and deck the head flat.
