Here is how I did it...first I started with the plain valve cover...I found some sticky backed paper(from a CD labeling kit) in my room..You can pick up sheets of this at staples for quite cheap..I then laid it over the valve cover and did a pencil rubbing...

With the letters outlined perfectly on the paper, I began to cut them out and laying them on their respective letters..making the perfect mask! For letter that have holes in them, like 'D' or 'e', I put the whole letter onto the valve cover first..then used a razor to cut out the inside...

After this..I painted about 4 coats of high heat paint..then 3 coats of clear..When I was finished, I used a fork to peel off the masking..Looks GREAT!

I know you all must be thinking what is he doing with that color! Well I must tell you it looks much much darker in person..the digi-cam flash is a lil bright lol...Any questions Comments please lemme have them!

looks good, your right though, kinda bright with the flash, try to take a pic tomorrow in the sunlight w/o the flash so we can see.

great job on the masking and it turned out looking great, nice and shiney blue.

it's not a valve cover. it's an engine cover.

By the way, the first word in a sentence should have its first letter capitalized.

:'(

In actuality the color looks a hell of alot better..i hate the way the pictures came out..After I had it on the engine for a little while, I guess the paint cured and it actually got even a few shades darker and loooks great..I'm going to try and get a picture of it that makes it look right..Also, I am going to be colormatching a bunch of things to that..intake, strutbar, and calipers...eventually I will hope to work blue into the color scheme on vinyl or something....who knows?
