OK So I finished up painting my valve cover yesterday and I must say the results are quite pleasing.....

Here is how I did it...first I started with the plain valve cover...I found some sticky backed paper(from a CD labeling kit) in my room..You can pick up sheets of this at staples for quite cheap..I then laid it over the valve cover and did a pencil rubbing...

With the letters outlined perfectly on the paper, I began to cut them out and laying them on their respective letters..making the perfect mask! For letter that have holes in them, like 'D' or 'e', I put the whole letter onto the valve cover first..then used a razor to cut out the inside...

After this..I painted about 4 coats of high heat paint..then 3 coats of clear..When I was finished, I used a fork to peel off the masking..Looks GREAT!

I know you all must be thinking what is he doing with that color! Well I must tell you it looks much much darker in person..the digi-cam flash is a lil bright lol...Any questions Comments please lemme have them!
