US to UK Conversion

Hello everyone. Recently arrived in the UK and need some advice on meeting the parking light requirement here. Per law when you turn the selector knob to parking lights option the front should be white instead of amber. Does anyone have experience with this?

I read an article where you can cut the wire off the bulb which will prevent it from coming on when the parking light option is selected but will still work when turning. I also have been looking at some switchback LEDs to replace the current bulbs which will be white on parking light but switch to amber when turning. Any other ideas?

Between two options for front parking light conversion, the one you cut one wire on 7444 NA bulb is not going to work unless you have a LED Signature DRLs only on 2016(.5) CX-5 GT with Tech Package. In that case you use LED Signature accent strips serving as white front parking lights. That left the second option is the only option for you by using switch-back 1157NA equivalent LEDs. The only thing I don't like is a resistor pack is required for each LED you use to stop hyper-flashing on turn signals.

Yea, I'm not a fan of having to use the resistors but the only other option would be to use LEDs in the front fog lights and configuring it where the parking light option was a low intensity and turning on the fog lights would use full intensity. Guess it comes down to which one is going to be the best.

I'm not going to disrupt the functionality of the fog lights if I were you. Considering the wiring changes involved, I'd rather simply to get switch-back LEDs at parking and turn-signal light position with resistor pack and be done with it.

I ended up purchasing the Fog Light Assembly with LED DRLs from iJDM which instead of connecting to the DRLs I'll connect to the parking light. Got the rear fog light assemblies as well which meets the MOT requirements.

So required white parking lights don't have to be in the vicinity of headlights? And you also need to cut the wire feeding US amber parking lights to disable them?

Yea, the MOT is pretty specific that placement doesn't matter as long as it is viewable from the front, white, and "marks" the approximate width of the vehicle. No, the ambers can stay as long as the white lights are there. Now I just need to figure out the wiring of everything because most write-ups I've seen talk about the BCM...just no pictures for reference.
