Its the driver's cheap SUV choice- so kinda the best of the worst..these are the real ones- I'd still rather a cheap SUV and nice sports car on the side but if means allow..I guess your trackhawk just likes straight tracks.

That's another thing in the UK my model has a list price of around 35,500 , with metallic paint, no longer cheap, I bought my last one for 27,000.

Can't stand DSG so no VWs for me.

I couldn't tell any difference in the two test drives I had, they all change gear automatically, but there are lots off differing views in the UK re torque convertor and double clutch boxes, never having driven one for any length of time I can't comment.

But I'm afraid Mazda will have to do quite a lot to bring me back into the fold, a completely new infotainment with built in screen, multiple views to chose from, and extra gears, if Mazda want to move upmarket they will have to do a lot more to convince me to buy another.

They also need to give more power options.

The CX-5 is wasted on people like you, the diesel makes a very sporty sound on full throttle which I personally like to hear, Mazda deliberately put a sporty sound into the exhaust note with pre 2017 cars, to enhance the driving experience.

In my day driving a 2017 car the only improvement I could find was the engine can no longer be heard on tick over in the cabin, but its just a noisy outside.

I regularly set off from stationary on full throttle on a couple of dodgy junctions that traffic speeds past.

So the latest car is now bloated with extra weight, all the latest power and torque figures just offset that gained weight. My model now weight 1820kg up from my 2013 car at 1666kg to my present 2015 car at 1703kg. 117kg heavier...

I should also mention that a F1 car is a petrol hybrid with 6 cylinders with a very short life pulling a very light chassis.

That mate of mine had to return his high powered sporty noise version. They had him running round with a counter to count how many times it tried to kill him due to an almighty flat spot if he tried to turn out of a Junction quick. In the end he threw it back at them and got the lower powered next model down which has got those fold up patio chairs in it.

My Mazda TC also hesitates from a standing start so I often put it into manual 1. Neither is perfect.

Also read that the best gear box is a 8 speed ZF, unfortunately no car with one holds any attraction to me, I prefer CX5 or TIG size cars.

DSG is blast on open roads...clunky and noisy in traffic. Mazda's auto transmission is smooth in comparison. You also must have the DSG fluid changed or void warranty I think. Pretty pricey.

DSG loves pedal to the metal. Mazda's tranny loves it too but the ECU is tuned to "wait hold up now speed racer, just slow your roll" mode.

Mazda knows the US regulations, they said they were bringing the diesel in 2017 anyway, and that's after they f'd up the diesel 6 introduction, so this wasn't new territory.

Mazda may know your regulations but it's because of it they can't seem to get it done.

Seems they should seek advice from other makers on how to bring a diesel there...

I'm spending your 50 on Psuedo Sue pale ale..funny, found and really enjoyed these Iowa brews out in Omaha then i see them in west Conn..score! Banjos..strong buy rating!

The more this drags out though the more I'm digging on the new Santa fe even if that diesel doesn't materialize..can't go all the way up and have it make sense but I liked the cloth heated seats in sel plus i sat in recently. Epa fe isn't great but thinking it will easily meet or beat 27 hwy. But my 14/5er is still good everything works so maybe I'd put the 50 into a Stinger gt first instead as my drifter special x1 says goodbye soon..

I decided to just pay of my additional land I'm closing on in a few weeks before I buy a replacement for my cx5. It's time I do the mature thing and have a vehicle with no note, pay off everything but the house, and then re evaluate and maybe pay the house off. Having it all done by 45 or 50 would be a nice deal, and then I could afford truly absurd things like whatever is the GT3 or whatever.
