upping boost.

Yeah evo_mr2006, thanks for all the info and pics...

I also was wondering, in regards to your BOV, do aftermarket blow-valves perform better than the OEM ones, in terms of possibly "extending" the life of the turbo?

Does a high quality BOV "improve" / sustain the performance of the turbo? Is there a perceivable performance improvement? Or is just to get more turbo "sound" (as I have been told)?

Finally, how's that FMIC going...? ;)

Blow off valve's do not give any performance improvement. It is more for the sound than anything else. As far as longevity to the turbo....most likely since no air is hitting the turbo when not being used.

Thanks the bov just mainly helps relive pressure build up but performance wise nothing really as for the front mount intercooler im just in the pipe fitting stage due to me not haveing a grage to work in and its still winter but as soon as it gets warmer out things will pick up

So you can run all atmosphere bov, i thought the cx-7 only could run resirculating vavles, like a dv. Do you get any codes? any problems running into a full atmosphere vavle?

I had to go back to resirculating cause it was running really rich and it messed with my sensors

Boost

Ya the front mount intercooler makes more HP due to alot more cooler airflow being directed into the engine. From what I understand it adds ruffly 40-50hp
correct me if im wrong

I think the 40-50hp should come with the extra boost, not just for the FMIC.
FMIC alone would get you 4 -15hp gain max.

EDIT: Have anybody installed a boost controller to your CX7 ?!?
I think something like Profec B-Spec2 Boost Controller would be nice and safe addition for around $300. (drive2)
Anyone? (first)

I installed the Turbo xs manual boostcontroller when i put in the boost gauge and there is deffently a differance but i dont dare turn the boost up to high i'm running with the front mount roughly 21psi.

lol j/k im not that crazy to turn it that high i'm about 19.5-20 psi right now and it feels good great power for now

Brake torque this puppy to about 2200 RPM and it will knock you back in your seat like you wouldn't believe.

First time I did, it Knocked me back so got I bumped it into 2nd right away.

Have you made it to the dyno yet? Also hows your gas mpg with fmic and extra boost? Anyway to check your AFR with the boost as high as it is?

Thnks,

gas milage went down alot and i'm not sure what AFR is like i said i'm new to the engine moding so iI'm learning as i go

setting a boost controller to 21 psi could be dangerous for your turbo and engine. I am surprised you are not getting boost cut from the ecu, because your turbo is out of its efficiency range at 21 psi. Be careful
