upgraded my Protege

I did some upgrades to the Protege tonight. I put on 18" wheels, added HIDs, added an LSD, swapped the automatic transmission to 6-speed manual, and put in a rotary engine. And that's not all!

I upgraded so much, you could ALMOST say I have a new car... well, yeah, I do.

I kept the color :)

But, here it is, the last shot of the good old 2003 Mazda Protege LX automatic:

I lied again. Here is the real last shot:

The replacement is the rotary sportscar RX-8:

The RX-8, man! Daymn. I still can't believe it. Just night-time pics today. I now own:

2005 RX-8 6-speed, sport package (HIDs!! HIDs are awesome, fogs, DSC/TSC).

Zoom-fucken'-zoom! :)

Cloth seats, no moonroof, no spoiler, just the spare tire kit (will remove it for more trunk space).

I have to drive it carefully to break-in: no full-throttle, do not exceed 4K until 1000 miles. The car begs to rev... but I'll have to hold out :) Drove it around tonight.

Gawd, is that car sexy! Daytime pics coming tomorrow!

it is sexy, whats your plans for it?

Just audio for the next year or two (sub & speakers). Maybe small cosmetic or engine things (intake). I don't want to mess with the performance until I know the car well.

Nice, Oleg, that is sweet!

So, what's with all of NEPOC getting new cars? Jared with the evo, you with the rx-8?

I feel left out...

If I bought a stick the first time around, I think I would've still had my Pro.

On the bright side, I don't have to replace the right-side caliper anymore :)

Astral took my spot...I'm out he's in.....RX8-wise, I mean....

you'll have to give me tips, if any... I'm still learning how to drive the damn stick :) It's only the first start that's rough. Everything else is more or less oK. Oh that plus uphill starts.

well guess it's fitting i give you congrats here as well :D

as for stick driving, just be gentle when letting out the clutch, and after a while everything will smooth out :D

yeah just ease out when you leg go of the clutch in first gear, like release it slowly, youll get it after i while.

Even though I am in SC I am not leaving nepoc. The car will be back from the body shop end of next week. Then its off the modern performance for the built block, new clutch, and some other things are getting installed at the shop. Then the fun starts haha.......Ive got some money saved up for a bigger turbo................heh cant ****** wait.

first push it in slowly, then faster but gently, then caress it with your foot whilst using your wrist smoothly on the stick... then speed up and release in a controlled fashion ending with an explosive climax of shifting to the next gear.
