Unbelievable Gas Mileage !

OK, here's the deal. I have a 2000 Protege DX 1.6 Auto Transmission car. I got it about a month ago. I'm getting about 33 Miles Per Gallon. Is this possible. My trip to work is 18miles one way and it's I guess considered a Highway but has Lights. There is some Stop & go traffic occasionally. But according to my calculations on a 13 Gallon Tank, I'm getting 425 Miles. Is this normal ? Thanks.

Well I had a Cadillac with a V8 before this, so your right, I'm not pushing this little engine. So yea, that could be part of it but still, I'm not coasting.

I have an LX with an auto trans. I get in the high 20s with mixed driving. So 33 doesn't sound unreasonable.

it wasen't the first ULEV(ultra low emissions vehicle) certified car in the USA for nothing. if you ever do some long-distance driving, it'd say it'd be easy for you to hit 38-40mpg.

Great Mileage

My drive to work is 30 miles one way. I hit about 80 mph almost all the way and i get 420 miles to a tank. im lovin every bit of it.

Speed limit for my ride to work is 55 MPH. I go about 62. Cops are all over the place where I live. Can't push it. I have 18 miles to work & 18 miles from work.
