Ugly 2010 killed my plan to trade on a new MS3: Where to spend my money now?

What's sad is, no one really has an exact strut for our cars. I'd probably do Koni Yellows instead (since they have adjustable rebound, and rebound sucks on these cars).

Otherwise, have you met up with any local members? Any meets? Typically that exposes you to more benefits or opportunities with the car.

i'm also thinking about koni yellows and cobb springs as i only want a 1" drop

I have given some thought to fitting Bilstein HDs since I really don't want to lower the car. And last year I came very close to installing a set of Enkei RS-M wheels wrapped with Dunlop Direzza Star Specs.
I'm going with a set of Bilstein Sports to go with my Vogtland springs. I will be ordering the Bilsteins in about 2 weeks.

Yeah, but the 6 goes lots faster.

For the difference of near $5000, the 4 cylinder can go just as fast as the 6 with just a $600 reprogram. The tune from the factory seems to be either way too conservative or actually intentionally in place to slow the car down to help the sales of the 6. Also the 6 hasnt really been picked up by the aftermarket any where near as much and its not showing that much in gains like most NAs don't.

The numbers coming form the 4 cylinder with just basic mods are showing over 300 ib-ft of torque on the dyno.

Considering that Genesis 4T uses the same motor as the Evo X. I'm sure it's capable of putting out similar numbers with just a few mods.

Wow, that's nuts. I sat in the track trim at the DC auto show and I liked the shifter a lot. How does it feel in daily driving?

I prefer Bilsteins since they have worked great on every vehicle I've installed them on- including my Wrangler.

Nice people, but not much action in my neck of the woods- and none of them are track geeks.(headshake

I wish I could agree, but I haven't heard anyone using Bilsteins on these cars yet. And according to Bilstein, none of their struts are appropriate for our cars really. Maybe you can be a first!

See, we really love hanging out and bullshitting with our cars here. Too bad you don't live out in MI. Otherwise, what do you think you're going to do? Snatch up a BMW?

Some guys over on the "other" forum claim to have talked with Bilstein NA techs who said that the HDs would work fine. I heard the same from a major Bilstein distributor.

A friend is selling a pristine E30 M3 with only 54K miles. He already has two(!) other E30 M3s and he needs to let one go. I had an E24 M6 back in the mid '90s and it would be nice to have another M car. About the only maintenance I can't perform is the valve checking/adjustment procedure. I also like the simplicity of the car; the only electronic bits are the FI and the ABS.

Oh, well are the Bilstein's adjustable at all?

I hear you on liking a car and always wanting one again. I've wanted a 350z for the longest and almost attempted to get one twice, and it fell through both times. I freakin love how I feel when I drive it, and how the car drives. Yeah, it may not be the fastest thing in the world, but they are an absolute blast to drive!

Do what you gotta do man! Let us know what you decide.

You forgot modest.

Haha!
Since the thread was deviating away from the original subject, I thought I'd throw my own hat into the fanboy vs. hater ring.
While my claims are true and intended to show that I do have a solid background in driving that shapes what I want out of my vehicles, the PS was really intended as humour even though there isn't a disclaimer in the form of a "jk" or "lol".

Careful there, its the same block but weaker internals so its not going to be holding the power like those Evo monsters can.

That is my only complaint about the car, it shifts like complete crap.
In the cold it is near impossible to down shift. Up shifiting is usually no problem

Try reading for comprehension; life will go much smoother. I wasn't complaining about the car needing repair; I was simply saying that it would be better for me to spend that money on a car that I would enjoy.

You should try reading what you type. The way in which you've been discussing the car for the last few months has sounded like nothing but crying from a 10 year old.

A true automotive renaissance man. I am simply in awe...

You should be, you're such a track god yet can't handle a FWD, sad.
