That rx7 is pure sex :)....Man thier nice cars..but I could never trust a rotary..I know that they can last and with the right care people have ran them along time..But holy cow..I cant tell you how many rx7's i see for sale that says new engine..or replaced engine at 40,000 miles..or brand new engine has only 1500 miles on it...put a ls1 in it and now were talking..Not trying to bash the rx7..sexy as hell car,and im sure thier are devoted owners who know whats up..But as for as looking for a car now to replace the ms3..thats tough if you wanna stay in the price range..prabaly just wait alittle longer..I saw s2000 mentioned but if the op has s*** to carry around and thats the reason why hes not getting a 370z..think that pretty much puts the s2000 in that same cat. I also heard about waiting for the Focus RS..is that actrully comming to America??...the new GTI-R would be worth a look..but then again your into the 30k+ range when that car comes..maybe a slightly used 2007 R32???...sweet sounding v6 *almost as fast* to the ms3..and I have a friend who has a 450 whp turbo 2007 R32 and it runs like a champ and kills alot of cars on the road..Goodluck with whatever you choose...the gti would be a goodchoice if power-speed isnt much of a concern...Ill prabaly keep my speed for couple more years..then im going BMW 135i...but who knows..I change my mind alot lol.

I don't believe absolutely everything I read, but the Wayne, MI truck/suv plant has already been re-tooled and prepared to start manufacturing the world Focus/Fiesta/Ka. And i've already seen CAD designs for US-Spec intercoolers for the US-Focus. And I know friends of the family who lived in Germany for 3 years working on potential versions.

It's coming. They just don't know when and for how much.

Golf R will cost way too much. And I ALMOST jumped on a 08 R32 with only 40k miles on it. Problem is, every 40k, that DSG gearbox requires a $1k transmission overhaul. I wasn't about to buy a more expensive used car and start repairing it already. Dealer was selling the car for $22,900. MINT condition too. NO physical damage to anything, and the seats and interior were in MINT condition. A couple from Cali flew in and snatched it up.

lol...........i know that rx7 is not a very reliable car but i dont care im still gonna get one, this cars are just amazing, one of my friends have it and its ******* beautiful, it looks better in real life :D

Yep cant argue thier..one of the best looking cars ever made imo-rx7.......and I meant 2008 not 07 R32..didnt know about the 1 k tranny overhaul..that does suck alittle bit.

The DSG clutch packs, transmission fluid and filter need to be replaced. It's expensive, but required. Also, they issued a recall last year on ALL DSG transmissions, and extended powertrain warranties to 100k. Something to do with the mechtronics unit that handles shifts and rear diff signals. It'd go haywire and make the car real jerky at low speeds and manuevering in parking lots.

I did my homework, that's for sure...after deciding the car was too much of a risk (as well as being a stupid financial mistake), I bailed on the idea. I should have done it now that I look back on it. Dealer was willing to perform the 40k service, and it was Pre-owned VW so it had it's own 3 yr/36,000 extended bumper-to-bumper warranty ontop of the mileage it already had. A HUGE benefit to buying used VW. You actually still have a warranty!

The R32 is a beautiful car inside and out. A local dealer has an 08 R32 on the lot with only 300 miles on the odo. They are asking 29k for it.

I would never buy one- it offers NO performance. Thes fastest one on dragtimes is still in the 13's and that's with NO2. :(

They're extremely fun to drive, the exhaust note is sexy as all hell, and who can beat DSG+AWD? It may not be a Mercedes C--I mean, CSRT6, but it's still a very unique and fun car.

There not too fast stock VERY TRUE. And compared to your car, specialy not lol....BUT like said before they are still fun to drive and just sexy inside and out..My friend who has the 450 whp red 08 R32 is sick fast..Hes taken lambo's and porshe 911's on the freeway *closed race ofcourse* cough...Not trying to start some speed war..but thats saying something..true its arather expensive turbo kit..And I prabaly wouldnt go that route myself..But the engine is very solid and it drives like a dream...that being said ill prabaly go BMW 135I twin turbo 6..BMW says 300 bhp.....with ecu upgrade and intake-exhaust thier making around 370 whp and for 3200lb german driving machine that should be a good up upgrade for me :)

Like the title says, I was thinking of trading up to a 2010 MS3... before I saw one.

Now that I'm up to around 40K miles on my 2007, I'm thinking about getting something newer while my car still has decent resale/trade value.
I like the practicality and fun that is combined in my MS3, so I'm considering "similar" cars like The WRX and STi. I'm not sure I'm wild about the new Evo and buying a pre-owned one makes me nervous given the popularity of tuning the hell out of them. Plus, I like the cargo space of the MS3 and I'm not sure if the trunk of a sedan will serve the same purpose as a wagonback or 5-door.

Suggestions and thoughts?

how about a certified pre-owned Audi S4. The warranty is actually better than a new one. I owned an S4 at one time, and plan on another one some day. The 4.2 sounds sweet! All season capability with 340bhp. Good stuff.

Originally I was looking at the STI as my next car but where I live everyone has STI/WRX and I wanted something a bit more unique. I had also looked at a Lotus Elise but it looked like a cheap exotic to me.

I went with the Mazdaspeed3 for the price (although my credit is so whacked I had to pay over sticker and max interest rates... don't ask), feature-set, and expansion capabilities.

Coming from 10 years of imports (everything from a civic to a supra) I wanted something that would last, be practical, stylish, yet haul ass when needed. The MS3 fit the bill. I plan to keep this car at least 5-6 years (financing :P) so I'm not sure what my next car will be. I'll be almost 40 at that time so I may switch to something more touring/luxury at that time.

One day at a time.

I know the A4's have serious oil sludge issues in the engine. You may want to research the S4's a little more.

trade it in for a 2010 wrx, faster 0-60 time then the sti. the interior probably wont be as good as your speed but atleast you will have awd. and that legendary subaru sound =)

AWD yes, exhaust sound though? My MSCBE does a fine job mimicking that.

I hate to sound like such a fanboy (because for the past 2 months, I was prepared to do anything to get out of the car), but I feel like these cars are definitely something special.

What changed your mind? I've come to the point where I don't enjoy driving mine at all- it hasn't left the garage for going on two months. Inquiring minds want to know...

Life, economy, finances.. It all just didn't seem to be worth it. I'm not living beyond my means, but again, it just didn't seem worth it. But, it turned out, there wasn't a single thing i'd rather be driving that was worth a damn. Everything either costs too much, or isn't worth what you're paying. And I started truely appreciating what the car is, the opportunity I have to drive a car like this, and left it at that. I have been bouncing through cars the past 5 years, and this is finally one I have a hard time getting rid of.

The things I don't like about the car, are minor things, considering things could be worse, and people are a lot more worse off than me, with lesser incomes, lesser fortunate, not able to enjoy the things I have.
