nvm after even more searching my cams were in the last group with only my cams, boostdprotegelx, and protephile. from the post it says no repair so im guessing they should be good

EDIT: after finding that some ppl that had them fixed still had to get them fixed again id like know how to check and see if my journals are correct. what would i do sit them in the head and make sure they seat all the way or what?

sound: the youtube ones are on a turbo car - the other ones are on AusOrion's car with stock ecu holding idle down around the 600's.... sounded absolutely brutal when it was idling like that..

o no im not saying its more important i was just trying to judge the sound being as the 2 i posted are on 2 opposite ends of the spectrum as far as sound. Also maybe you can help me out i got shakaba's cams that he never used and i went searching thru the original GB thread and his cams didnt need any repair so that means the lobes were in spec and didnt need fixing correct?

You got a ticket for driving too slowly?? LOL, grandma!!

Are you running an EMS? Just curious because I've been really busy and haven't
followed this thread as closely as I should have.

worth the wait in the end?

hows the big kick at 4k on the auto box? at 4000rpm my car just becomes a completely different animal.......

seriously

there was such a piss fest when these got screwed-up
the cam company covered everything

i was the absolute last set made
so you should be good to go

...drop in, ...shim to spec, ...enjoy :)

Oops, that was 50 in a 30 I meant, hehe (stoned)

I wonder if it similar to what turbo lag or waiting for VTEC?
I admit I LOVE the sound and the power from 3K up.
I feel a lot of extra oomph from 4K to 5K and I rarely get past that.

I am hoping to dyno tune and really see what the cams along with the head, valve work, port matching gained.
And then add a t3/4 snail (eek2)

No, mine was the last set made :)

Maybe the last installed, anyway...

actually mine, yours, and boosted protegelx were the last 3 sets made. and i havent isntalled mine yet and neither has boosted protege lx so your nto the last lol did you check your journals when you got them btw?

if you are worried (and this is probably prudent for everyone who hasn't installed them yet), measure the journals with a set of verniers, to make sure they are within spec. They should be.

Assuming they are in spec, they will go in no hassles...300miles of break in and you can then drive the car like you stole it. Noone has yet questioned the overall build quality of the cams - they are stong, and well made with a fantastic profile (i'd still argue the best profile on any cams that were ever made for the motor - made by one of the best cam manufacturers in the business).

Yes, there was a **** up, yes it was serious, yes it took months to have it fixed - but in the end they were fixed, and plenty of people are now enjoying them - look at Crazy D - he was by far the most vocal when things started going wrong - and i'd hazard a guess the things are now his favorite mod on the car :P

just check the journals, and get them in....and don't look back :P

I didn't check them 'cuz I don't have the tool to do so.
They are sitting in my garage along with some other stuff
while I do a Gollum talking to myself about whether or not
to buy an EMS or sell them & move on.

93.1kW = 124.8hp. This is 2kW LESS than the Dynamic Test Systems dyno with just an exhaust and unichip. Just goes to show you need to compare apples with apples.

FP 1.8 with Twiggy Sticks, Injen CAI, Pacemaker Header, Racing Beat cat-back, emanage Ultimate.

Flywheel estimate was 113.2kW(151.7hp).

The dip at 5k has always been there since new and the tuner couldn't get rid of it. It can be felt when driving. Possibly to do with the VICS activating? If that's the case, it appears the point could be moved up a bit?

Apparently, the Innovate WBO2 is reading a bit rich, so I've been running slightly lean until the dyno tune. Scary. So is the rough street tune. Professional tuning FTW.
