I don't think anyone has one so I bought it to try it out. I installed it today and it is loud! It has to be the loudest BOV out there. People will definitly hear me coming the street.

Just so you know man you may be killing yoru turbo with that BOV I woudl bet that you are getting compressor surge alot with it since its not designed to open fully under 10 psi. That is a higher pressure BOV man not good for our low PSI setups.....I had the Type S and it barely opened enough.......I would suggest highly not using that but its your choice.

Thanks For the heads up but it still openes under low boost even at like 1 psi (if it openes fully I don't know)

HKS is a good valve but for low boost you want a dual chamber BOV really the HKS is one of these so that is good but a twin chamber or a pull release valve would work best I believe. Such as teh Blitz Dual Drive, HKS SSQV, Apex'i Twin Chamber(yeah i know its gay), or a Greddy type S.......piston type BOV's like the older Blitz, turboXS and some others are likely to leak and require a lot of pressure to open them usually. The Type S I had which is the LOWEST spring setting on any TurboXS valve didn't open fully till around 6-7 psi.....what you may think is a BOV sound may actually be compressor surge if you don't have a good knowledge of the difference of the sound between them.

Whts wrong with the Apexi on, is it sounds or looks. I guess i would function ok.

Just the sound of it is really really gay i think it isn't intimidating at all i know thats the ricer in me talking but it does do its job well.

I roll with the Flyin' Protege Sequential. It sounds lilke the APEXi on that link I posted earlier.

You can change the amount of surge in the RFL by adding or removing washers. I tried this BOV on a couple of my friends DSMs...Its not bad. Id definately choose the HKS SS if I had to pick anything though.

yes you can up the pressure it will hold by adding washers but it comes with no washers there is no way to lower the load on the BOV on the RFL below what it is shipped at....I still don't like them....remember DSM's are pushing more boost than we proteges are.

agreed, but I thought it was the other way around. I thought *but could easily be wrong* that it came with all the washers in, and you could remove them as you need. I know that the one I have played with came with some washers, but it was a used peice. Not sure if TurboXS makes them or not. Anyway, I still cast my vote for the Super Sequential. OH yah, what are you guys running for boost. My car only sees 12lbs.

Well my car only saw 6-7 PSI for 5 months before a rod broke, but there are more contributing factors though (like subtle knock, lemon 2nd motor from Japan, etc...) that made that happen. I will soon know soon enough when I take my block appart since I will have a certain engineer anylize my connecting rod. One guy (Spoolinmp3) is pushing 10 PSI with timing and fuel control. That's his banner to his website at the top for Spool-Turbo.

well the turbo XS has been working fine for a week now, and It came with no washers installed, but I had to add four so it would not leak any air at idle.
