Turbo spooling problems.

Just trying to trouble shoot some problems...

I've noticed that firstly I can't boost in 1st. I can hear the turbo spooling, but it never reaches boost on my gauge.

In 2nd, I can hit 5psi for a second (i boost 6psi max) and then it starts to drop. I hit 5 around 3-3.5 rpm.

In 3rd, it's the same, but I can hold 5psi for a longer amount of time.

In 4th, i can hit 5psi for pretty good amount of time before it starts to drop.

In 5th, I can hit 6psi indefinitely on WOT.

Is this normal? I feel like I have a problem.

I have a perrin sri, 3in vibrant turbo back exhause (which is really a j pipe back), and a turbolife fmic.

Definitely seems like something is holding you back.. have you checked your WGA? I'm sure you have.. besides that I don't know if it may be turbo lag?

it might be turbo lag because of the turbolife fmic. That thing is huge. I haven't checked my wga. It's just so much work to take it out and check it. I don't have the time.

You don't need to take out the WGA to check it.

Remove the vacuum line and blow into it. If you can blow air through it, it's toast.

You don't have lag from my FMIC being too big, or everyone else would too. The Turbolife FMIC spools quicker then the stock SMIC setup.

it sounds so hard. I install my own parts and like to trouble shoot my own problems, but i lack finesse. I am very crude, and I really don't trust myself with the vacuum lines. But i guess i'll have to.

Its super easy man.

Follow the line from the WGA to its source, and remove it at its source (easier end to get to). Blow into it, you'll know right away if there is a leak...

i bet your intercooler is too big do you still have the gt25? cuz i heard one of those big front mounts is too big for that turbo to push enough air through and it wont spool properly

You heard wrong. The Turbolife FMIC spools quicker then the stock SMIC setup.
