Turbo problems

I have a kind of "T" connector at the original place of the oil presure sensor and the oil presure sensor and the oil line for the turbo are connected there. I don't have any problem with that. I think that's where everyone connected their oil line. I think it's :bs: .

You don't know another place to have your turbo rebuilt? I don't think it's a good idea to pay him to rebuilt it again. For 2 reasons. The first, if he didn't did it right the first time, he maybe will not do a better job the second time. Second, if I was you, I don't think I will give him another peny with all the :bs: he gives you.

That's my opinion!

Our kits come with a -4 oil feed line.

As for the turbo, I agree with Stou do not rebuild with this guy. First off 480 is alot for a rebuild and make sure if it is rebuilt that the whole turbo cartridge is replaced. This roughly costs 300 dollars. I have had a similar problem with a recent customer and we are replacing the turbo asap.

Majestic turbos in texas is a good rebuilder and I think they offer overnight service.

There is usually a risk involved in buying remanufactured or used turbos. If this was the case regarding a new garrett atleast you have a factory warranty.

Make it a poit not to take it to this guy and get a new turbo or get a garrett authorized rebuilder to do the job.

I guess I will have to place that order with you spoolin when I get back from NOPI. Do you think that 5/16 brake line will be ok for now????????? I think on my upgrade I will definatly get a new turbo. In the long run you save money, I should have listened but instead I am paying for it. Ooh well I will post pics as soon as I am done.

Also after I break the car in I will take it to the 8th of a mile track and get some numbers for you guys. At the begining of every month they have a import shoot out. The fastest import this past time was an Eclipse( ran a 8.9), the domestic was a Fiero(ran a 6.61). I am hoping to run a 9.2 or 9.3.

Well wish me luck on the install(bluemp3) (yellomp3) (bluemp3) (yellomp3)

It's a custom system, with a T-28 turbo. I am going to run a Greddy emanage, as soon as it makes it to me, I can wait till after the show, no big deal.

A rebuild should only cost up to $300. There alre always rebuilt cartridges on ebay for $125. That's all the guy sells on ebay is the cartridge, and all you do is replace it. Just search for "turboccharger".

Mike I am unsure on the break line. I know that dash 4 provides the right amount of oil pressure to the turbo. I would not mind selling you a turbo but I think its not necassary. If you get a proper rebuild you should be fine. Your best bet is to send it to majestic and maybe you can fit a bigger compressor wheel into that housing to ofset the smaller size of the t28. You have to take into consideration that your manifold and downpipe support the t28 so it would be more feasible to stick with it. I think you need a good set of oil lines though. I am unsure if you are running the proper pressure.

Let me know what you guys think??????

Ok I changed my oil supply line to 1/4" I think this will help with the oil pressure. Also on the oil outlet on the turbo where did you guys put the line into the oil pan , or the block. Mine is almost at the top of the pan. I measured the oil under the line, and it is 2 and 1/4 quarts, after that it will then cover the outlet line. Will this pressurize the line, and if so will this blow out the seals in the turbo. Ooh the oil outlet line is 3/8" should be free flowing enough I think. Let me know what you guys think?

(bluemp3) (bluemp3) Try to get it drivable by tonight. Hopefully

Mike, it must be on the top front of the pan. Here an example from the August issue of HCI where they have a very good step by step of a turbo installation.

Ok Stou on the oil outlet coming out of the turbo how is yours done. Last time I tapped muine out, which I have scene alot of turbos done that way, how is yours done?

Mike, it's a kind of flange that is bolted on the oil output of the turbo. This picture is not from my car but it look a lot like this one.
