OK.
Please bear with me. I have owned 2 cars: a 94 Mx6 and a 94 Rx7. One was NA and slow. The other was TT and fast. Now I have a good chance to buy a 2001 MP3. After the FD, this thing is going to seem like a snail. I see that there are some good turbo kits out on the market for the protege and the MP3 in particular. I read up on a few of them - trying to see if that would be the right route for me to take. Now, I don't need to run a 9 sec. 1/4 mile time, but I like some power in my car.
The problem is, I am getting rid of the FD to go to a more reliable car. If I turbocharge the MP3, does this destroy all of its reliability? What would have to be done to maintain the reliability and still increase the power? I was shooting for a total of 230-250 hp...more than the Jspec conversion would give me. Any suggestions and comments are welcomed. Thanks,
Tyler
