Turbo Kits For Sale

Hello fellow members. I am putting the finishing touches to a new turbo kit for the MP3 and P5 cars and was trying to gauge interest in such a kit. The kit will include the following:

T-28 Ball Bearing turbo
Bar and Plate Front Mount Intercooler
Cast Manifol
Reprogrammed ECU
Downpipe
Blowoff Valve
Lines and Fititings
Cold Airbox
I'm intrested in your turbo kit. When will they be made?

The kit will have a few upgrades available such as 300CC injectors with higher boost levels and different ECU tuning, as well as polished intercooler piping. Also a full exhaust sytem will be offered as well as a Carbon Fibre cold air box. I am expecting the kit to be completed next month and I am trying to gauge your interest in actually buying this product. The stock kit will have 5 PSI and produce approx 175 horsepower. I am trying to keep the kit below $3700 and have you guys actually purchase them;) The extras will be availble in a second kit for approx $4500 minus the exhaust system. That kit will produce over 200 horsepower and will require a clutch upgrade which we will also be selling. I will have dyno numbers and pictures of this kit next month. Please let me know who would be interested in purchasing this kit as I need to make them in batches of 10 to be worth our time and investment. Thanks for your time guys.

The manifold will be a log style so that the turbo can be mounted up high. The ECU is proving to be a little tougher then we thought as it is actually a Ford EEVC and not the traditional Mazda Denso unit. Not a big problem. The kit should be available with engine management in approx 3 weeks depending on the ECU. The kit itself is ready and I will have pictures in a few days. The critical ECU tuning is all that is left to finalize. I am not sure why Mazda has placed this Ford ECU in the car. Perhaps it is to start the Ford cross over as the new Mazda 4 is a rebadged Ford Focus when it is released next year. The ECU will control boost, timing, fuel and ignition. I will have to see about Knock control. Thanks for the interest everyone. This will be a great kit and worth your time and money.

It certainly sounds like it if your new ECU will control boost, timing, fuel and ignition...

I hear bad things about log style manifolds. Can you give us the run down on tubular vs log?

Also, if you want to make a deal with spoolinmp3 (a member here), He makes custom turbo manifolds that are tubular.

Ok Brett will the ECU be calibrated for bypassing, or would it be set up to blow off? With a fuel pressure regulator will I be able to turn up and down boost? Will I be able to adjust the boost without any problems? Because while I am getting a the system together and I need to know before I start buying all this stuff that I will not need.

Let me know if you know thanks

Hey guys. The reason for the log style manifild is one primarily of cost. There is a small difference between the two styles of manifiold in terms of performance, with the tubular being a little better overall. The tubular style does hold an advantage in the low end over the log style. However the style of kit and ball bearing turbocharger will eliminate much of the tubular's low end advantage. I do not forsee any check engine lights with our ECU. I am working hard on the N/A ECU and will perhaps start another thread to see if I can drum up some sales for a MP3 or MP3 + chip for you N/A guys out there. The matter of boost control is still ongoing. We are working very hard to have 2 kits available, one with low boost (5-6PSI) and one with around 9 PSI. We will have management for both of these power levels. Raising the boost past this level is not recommended unless you have additional engine management. It may be possible for us in the future to program our chip for boost pressure above 9PSI, but this is not something we are currently pursuing. Thanks fella's.

Also are you guys going to change the ignition curve, and the injector pulses to work with the bigger injectors:confused:

The ECU will be programmed for the 310 CC injectors for the higher boost kit. The ignition, fuel, timing etc will be modified to suit that size injector. That is enough fuel for approx 260 horsepower at safe duty cycle levels. We are not recommending changing the boost pressure that we are setting up the kits for. I also cannot guarantee that our ECU will function properly with different components than our kit for obvious reasons. Hope that helps.

Last question hopefully, will the ECU be calibrated to bypassing, or will it be set up to Blow off?

Sorry I am being a pain. But I am really interested in your system and I found a really good deal on RFL BOV so I really need to know?

Thanks :D

The chip is still being programed but we are leaniong towards venting some air to atmosphere and plumbing back the rest. The ECU chip will be programed for this. I should have some pictures by Friday for you guys. Take care.

Brett, can we get one on the a car for the August 31 Import Revolution show here in San Mateo?

Our Project P5 and others will be featured in the Mazda booth. If we can prep one for promotion please contact me. I'm a friend of Ivan as well. I met Brian last year at the other HIN show when you guys had the race prepped FD on the floor.

Thanks, Rishie

Can you look into making a tubular manifold as an upgrade? I'd be willing to throw another $100-$150 in for a better manifold.

Also, what PSI will the kit COME at? (the stage 2 kit, that is), will it COME at 9psi, or be able to handle 9psi?

What's the max safe boost in the engines?

If I remember correctly, they are located in Northern Cali near Concord I believe. I may be wrong about the city, but they are definately in Northern Cali.
