great news justin!! hey, on the pan...i just used a putty knife and worke my way around the pan and it finally gave in and came off, no worries, you really can't hurt anything...plus you'll be scraping it down nice and clean with a dremel befor you reinstali it. oh, and use a good amount of sealant...i was to frugal and my pan leaked!
Very good info, thanks Mark! A putty knife really worked for ya, huh? That sucker is tighter than a (insert corny virgin joke here)...lol I started getting it off using a screwdriver and hammer, tapping ever so gently and got about a 1/4 of it unsealed. I'll try the putty knife method from here on out, but I think I'm gonna need the extra umph of the hammer.

I can't wait to be doing this myself, because I'll be doing it outside of NEPOC territory and need to keep the car driveable during the week haha. :D

Man, you do not wanna do this alone! If it weren't for good friends I dunno where I'd be right now. On a side note, this is day 4 w/o driving my baby. I've never gone this long w/o her. I feel like I'm dying inside!!!

Man...after reading this I am really glad that I decided not to go through with the convertion. I was worried that stuff like this would come up...

Yep, I kinda knew it would be a touch and go kinda thing going into it. Even with all the little hiccups that have come along(waiting for parts, stripped studs etc..), I've been having a blast. You just have to accept that s*** isn't gonna go exactly as planned. I've learned so much already so no matter what kind of snags I hit, I see it as something new to learn/overcome. Like I said, help is prob the most important part, wrestling parts out, hitching rides and borrowing cars. I <3 my friends and family, they're (first)

wow, sounds like you are working hard on this.......sure you will have her up and running soon once you get everything/get installed! can't wait to see finished product!

Thats half the fun of a project! knowing what needs to be done, then finding a way to get that done along with everything else! and then seeing it work in all its glory knowing that you, with the help of some friends, did it!

I urge you never to buy a car to restore if thats the case though. I started with my firebird just freshening it up...and since then has turned into a complete and total frame off resto. I was supposed to be driving the car the spring after I got my lisence...which would've been two years ago. now Im about $6k into it minus cost of car, and it 'looks' worse than it did when i bough it!

Opps!

Hehe...just thought it was funny you parked there.

Definitely working hard, whoever comes to the show in Raynham will get to see it. Yea, I really should've left the title generic, but I know that it'll be done in a few days. I'm not waiting on MAM! :p

LMAO, that would've been better if it was the pic of my car when it was still 4x4, that way it could've gotten in there no problem! hah. funny stuff

(rofl) I'm 24 now, so if it takes me the same amount of time as you, I'll be roughly 316... :p

If you need a hand Firday or Saturday let me know Justin. I would've offered to help earlier in the week, but I've been doing semesters worth of HW and studying for the finals I have this week. I can bring any tools you could possibly need.
