I know I am new to the Mazda scene and don't know about their tuner companies all that much, but I would have thought that with in a year they would have a performance computer from them by now. Especially now that Mazda is making the MS6 and MS3 both with the same engine. The MS3 is going to be a hit if they actually advertise it. Plus the MS3 is only 11hp less then the MS6 and its only real competition is an Audi A3 which even if you get the Sline 3.2l the MS3 should wipe the floors with for almost half the price. Yet no tuner company having a chp for the 2.3 DISI just makes me look a little bit harder towards the Subaru legacy GT spec B.
This car does not have the same crowd, pull or following as the the two bread winners for the aftermarket from Mazda. The Miata and RX-8/RX-7 are a whole different bread of owner. The market is there and the cars are built in much more quantity than the MS6 and MS3.
With that, you also factor in the actual desire for parts. It is not there. The 3rd gen Protege had nothing out when the MP3 hit the market. It is now five years later and there is still a very limited market for the car (when compared to the Miata, RX-8 and particularly anything Honda), even with the MSP being built.
The last part is the general knowledge base of the crowd buying and modding these cars. I hate to say it, but most people who want to mod their MS6/MS3/MSP seem to have a poor grasp of the language and have trouble getting across what they want.
Most people here seem reasonably intelligent. But that is because you use the board regularly. Other people who contact these companies strictly via e-mail can barely form a coherent sentence. I'm sure you've seen some of the posts on here from people like that. People scratch their heads wondering what the heck the person was trying to say.
After all of this, there are parts coming for the MS6. It will be slow and limited partly due to the market, and partly due to Mazda. In time, there will be some of things you are looking for. They will be more expensive on average then the typical Miata parts because of the lack of volume. But, most times that extra cost is getting you a solid part that will function for the life of the car.
Sorry, I'll get off my soap box now...It's just annoying that the other cars in Mazda's line up don't get the love the Miata and RX-8 get, given the devoted fan base for the 6 the 3 and so on.
