hey all i have a 1993 626 with 180k
with the stock FS? motor? 2.0L DOHC

i am new here and was wondering if someone could confirm that i have the same engine as you guys.?

if so, i need help, as my car hesitates and sometimes feels like it is going to stall during idle.. im going to do a tune up...

i made a cold air intake from pvc piping, ill put pics up later... this did not stop the hesitating, but i gained some top end power.. and a nice, grunty sound!!

is there any particular injectors, plugs, cables, oil, or anything else that you guys recommend?

WIKIPEDIA IS LEGIT AHAH

The 2.0 L (1991 cm) FS was one of the last F-family engines. With an 83 mm bore and 92 mm stroke, it produced 130 hp (97 kW) and 135 ftlbf (183 Nm). In 1998 the engine underwent several changes, most notably a distributorless ignition and was called the FSDE.

Applications:

* 1993-2002 Mazda 626
* 1993-1997 Mazda MX-6
* 1999-2001 Mazda MPV (Japan)
* 1999-2003 Mazda Capella
* 2001-2003 Mazda Proteg
* 1993-1997 Ford Probe

A special turbocharged version of the FS was produced for the 2003 Mazdaspeed Proteg. It produced 170 hp (127 kW) and 160 ftlbf (217 Nm).

In Japan a higher-performance version of the 1993-1997 FS engine was offered with a distributorless ignition and higher compression ratio, known as the FSZE.

Common problems:
Secondary ignition stuff- cap, rotor, wires, plugs-
Shitted up idle speed control and throttle body-
I've replaced air mass meters on these cars too that can make it run like its pulling a trailer. With that mileage, first thing I would do are the basics. Compression and leakdown tests. Make sure cam timing is correct. Double check ignition timing (remember to short ten -> gnd in the test connector), then start replacing components as necessary.
