Trying to grease bushings - Need quick advice!

Hi,

I'm kind of a noob to mechanical stuff so this question is probably pretty pathetic to most of you. Anyways, I have a MSP with the AXR clunk fix kit. There was no clunk for several months but I've been getting a clunk for the past month or so and it's pretty bad now. I have a couple questions about greasing them:

- Are my bushings destroyed since I took so long to grease them after hearing clunks?

- I jacked up the car and tried to use a grease gun with the grease fittings on the bushings, but there is a long bar that goes from the center of the car to each wheel that is about 1 inch away from the grease fittings and makes it so I can't get the grease gun in to either fitting. How do I work around this? Do I need to take off the metal that secures the bushings in place? Can I get a flexible hose to attach to the grease gun??

- I should be using lithium grease, right? Is any kind of lithium grease alright, or should I look for a specific kind. I need something that's available locally at like an Autozone or murrays.

Thank you so much!

Your bushings could be shot, but it could also be your endlinks that is causing the clunk. You should grease the bushings regularly though.

When greasing, don't jack the car up. I was able to get the grease gun on the grease fitting when the car was on the ground.

Use white lithium grease.

I ended up buying a right angle adapter and used Valvoline Synpower. It's synthetic lithium complex grease. I injected grease into the fitting until I saw grease coming out of the side of the bushing.

I still have the clunk. I wonder if it's because my bushings are shot or something else?

The bushings being worn/ungreased would lead to more of a squeaking problem in my experience. Search for the "clunk fix bracket" here on the forum.

He has the clunk fix...sounds like an endlink issue

Thank you for that. I should work on my reading skills.

On another note, I have the AWR adjustables on my rear swaybar. They are tits. I highly recommend them.

I'ven been thinking about the AWR's as well, But just recentlt started reading about other options that might be better.

Someone checked out my endlinks and said they were fine. Do you guys think replacing the bushings would fix the problem? Anyone know the part # of the bushings that come with the clunk fix bracket?
