transmission gearbox leak

I am the original owner of a 2008 MS3. The only modification made has been a K&N air filter. The car is good enough for me in OEM condition.
I changed the gearbox oil about 30k miles ago with some Redline product and anti friction additive.
last month I noticed a slight oil burning stink after I would get home from work. Then I started noticing about 50 cent sized oil drips in the driveway.
I pulled the lower beauty tray and the drivers side was caked with debris and old oil/fluid. I snapped a few photos under the engine bay found here:

I took it to the spray wash, and GENTLY cleaned as much off of it as I could. The fluid is nearly clear, slightly bronze, and looks exactly like the Redline gear Oil I put in it last year.
The small leak seems to be coming from the top of the transmission/gearbox. The leak and subsequent stench is greater if I am romping through the gears and driving like a general jackass. (not the only one guilty here...)
Is this a known issue? If so, what is it called and is there a fitting or gasket that I can replace? I can get a lot of returns searching the internet but nothing narrowed down to the six speed that we all have.
Thank you.

Found proper nomenclature for the part. Picked up said part. Repair under way.

Glad to hear the repairs are getting done. I was just out your way in Chandler last week, for all of 8 hours before hitting the road back to FL, haha.
