03 MSP, 110k miles. My friend took the car to a mechanic shop and they said it was just a clutch problem. So I brought the car back to my house, took off the old clutch (which didn't look that bad at all, all springs on disc looked ok). The throwout was TOAST though. So I replaced the clutch with an ACT HDSS and organic disc, new throwout bearing, etc.
Started it today and same problem. Put it in gear, and it goes nowhere. Just revs up. You can let the clutch all the way out with it in gear and it still goes nowhere. From what I've heard, these LSD's are prone to failure. Do you think that's what went? Or get a whole new trans?
This happened once to me in a Civic. Went to launch at the track, and the diff pin sheared off. Same symptoms. Any ideas? New LSD, or just new trans? Which is cheaper? Would the new LSD have to be clearanced? Or just put the final drive on the LSD and roll?
