depends on what tranny and who is doing it. i wanna swap out mine for the volvo 6speed from the s40. and if i really had the money....... the awd version

there is a write up on FocalJet for a swap, but no pics? i need the pics to do something like that, so i held off on my purchase.

obviously if you are changing something other than stock it would be a bit differenent, but the write up covers the basics.

The best way to do this is to have a donor car. I have seen people buy back totalled cars from insurance companies.
That will be the easies way to do it, you just swap parts.
I have seen some where the swap was actually free as they sold various body parts to make up the difference. All depends on the condition of the car and your mechanic skills.

Would be alot easier for a Mazda6 as the have been out for awhile longer than the Mazda3.
You should look into that MrTea...I think you would like the 5speed alot better than a high perforance auto.

i was actually looking to see if i could install the race tranny from Lentech in myself. not swap from atx to mtx. i just think the ecu would have an utter shitfit if i was to do that. again, i don't know for sure, but i would hate to do the swap and the car be in limp mode due the the ecu thinking the tranny is F'd up.

that's just me though. might be a thought to change to mtx if the Speed3's tranny becomes available before i buy the Lentech one.
