TPMS Sensor

:
2016 CX-5 Touring AWD
2019 CX-5 Reserve AWD
This morning the TPMS icon illuminated on my dash along with a swerve icon. I checked the pressure in all four tires and they're all around 35 psi.
Seems like a malfunctioning sensor. Anybody experience this? Is it a problem with Mazda?

Next time I drive the car I will try resetting the sensor. I notice Mazda has a reset button so it seems like it happens frequently enough to warrant a reset.

Try a reset. Refer to your manual on the procedure. The system will need a certain amount of time or travel to re acclimate.

I don't think it's at all uncommon for a manufacturer to have a TPMS reset function and no, this is not a common issue with Mazdas or the CX-5. If it happens again and the pressures are OK, I would consider taking it in.

Mine was constantly flagging for me to check the tire pressure. The pressure was fine and it would stay on despite the reset procedure. It must have been a problem with the pressure check reminder function (despite being set for montly). I turned off the reminder and have not had any issues since. It might be a buggy reminder program or there might be a different way to reset the TPMS after a reminder. I might try it again to see if it is still buggy.

Well I checked all the submenus and there's no TPMS reminder function. Another thing, TCS/DSC indicator light illuminated at the same time. I'm going with a sensor malfuction.
With only 900 miles on the odometer I would suspect an electronics problem.

Had my second oil change today @ 12 K and when tire pressure was checked it was 22 psi in three of the tires. The TPMS never gave me any info on the low pressure. Anyone else have the same issue?.

Well this morning I went and started the car. The TPMS icon blinked for about 60 seconds then went solid. The DCS icon was also illuminated. Checked the maintenance screen and there were two warnings. TPMS malfunction and DCS malfunction. Knowing that all four tires had the correct pressure I pressed the TPMS reset button and held it for about 30 seconds. Nothing happened so I drove away, about 200 feet from my driveway both icons went off. Rechecked the Maintenance Warning screen and it said there were no warnings. Go figure. Drove the car about 20 miles with multiple restarts along the way and no lights.
Hope it doesn't come back.
I've made note of everything that went on and I'll discuss with Mazda service when I take it in for it's first service. I want them to log this event just in case.
