TPMS faulty?

Hello all,

I've had my MS3 for 6 days now, and so far I have had my TPMS light up in the dash twice (usually in the mornings). My cold tire pressures are 34F/32R as many on this site suggest. I'm wondering what the deal could be? Does it think my tire pressure is too low with these pressures?

It seems when it happens, it is after driving some, which is strange to me since my tire pressure will increase with the additional heat. Does the sensor detect when pressure is too high as well?

I'm thinking of just going to my dealer and having them lower the sensitivity on it, or check if its faulty. There is no audible warnings, but the dash light up is still annoying for a 6 day old car.

Thanks for any advice.

the tpms light comes on when it detects a difference in pressures. there is a certain psi difference that makes the light come on...so say all your tires were 20psi, the light would not come on, but if one is 20 and the others are 32 then it would go on. the sensors really don't go bad often, but you could go to the dealer if you want.

Oh ok that makes sense then, thanks Tropical! Didn't realize the mechanic worked like that. I could always go down and have my local tire place put them all at their correct pressures to be sure, I suppose. Eye balling an old analog tire pressure gauge probably isn't the most accurate way of filling them up.

FYI, I did have to decrease the pressure some since the dealer had them all around 40PSI cold.
