Have a few questions about getting a second set of rims and tires and TPMS.

1) How do I reset the car to the new sensors. I want to have a set of auto-x rims/tires and a set of street rims/tires

2) I plan on getting some 2004 RX-8 rims with tires and TPMS - does anyone know if those TPMS are compatible with the MS3 TMPS system?

3) If I need new TPMS sensors in each wheel - which used ones (mazda vehicles) will work in the MS3 or do I need to buy MS3 ones from the dealer?

4) Did I miss anything?

I did a search but did not find anything specific to this question.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Cheers

It is probably not necessary to have TPMS for autocross wheels/tires. You will be checking the pressures several times during the day anyway and may want a pressure that will give an alarm. Even used ones will proabably run you $300 for a set, they don't come up often.

Tirerack sells TPMS sensors for $250

HTH:

I'm also looking at winter wheels/tires and found that Tirerack is selling the TPMS sensor and valve nut (whatever that means, I'm new to the car and TPMS) for $250 for a set of four. Not sure if that's a good deal or not but wanted to pass it along.
