Tow Hitches

:
2012 Mazda 2
Has anyone installed a hitch on their 2? I've been thinking about it for bike rack and tiny trailer use. It looks to be under $200 with light hookups if you install yourself.

Let us know what you find out. My relatives in France all have these cool hitches on their cars that are totally low-profile and hard to see. I have no idea who makes them. I'd love to have one to use with a tiny trailer.

This looks decent, but what's is specifically cool about the French ones is how the ball doesn't stick out and up like this, it really hides below the bumper, and it telescopes out in some fashion that I can't quite remember, which is ideal for small trailers. I'll see if my uncle can tell me what the brand is...

That looks about the same as the UHaul hitch I have on my 2. Cheap, doesn't stick out, but a real b**** to install!

I use for my Kuat bike rack, don't think it's possible to actually tow anything with a 2.

I would use mine for a bike rack and perhaps a small race trailer (four tires and a small toolbox, not a racecar obviously). My only concern would be the towing prohibition in the owners manual, that may give you some warranty issues. You obviously want to limit the amount of weight you pull around, but I've seen an '89 CRX towing an '86 CRX so anything's possible.

Had this since the car was about 2 months old. It has seen many trailers pulled behind it.
