Damn, I leave and then all the excitment happens!

According to CNN international, only 1 person so far has been reported with life-threatening injuries. A tornado hits a city with 2 million people DOWNTOWN, and only 1 person is severely injured? If that's not some craziness, I don't know what is. It looks like a bomb went off downtown.

I hope all our folks, friends and family are safe :)

Yeah, the dome was wrecked a little while the SEC game was going on. People in the upper decks were fleeing. It was pretty psycho.

Now, I am off to bed.

"We went back outside after it was over and there were trees that were actually broken"

(hand)that's what usually happens after a tornado hits...

Just seeing this on the news now...Hope everybody up there is ok and checks in...

Yeah, I'm watching the news and these guys are a damn joke, but what can you do?

So, after reading this, I thought, "Oh crap, that kind of weather could be headed towards Athens, I did hear some thunder earlier" and I checked weather.com to see if there were any warnings. This is what I found:

Local Pollen Alert: Athens, GA
High pollen levels affect most people who suffer from seasonal allergies. Symptoms may intensify on high-pollen days.

Sooo..... yeah. I guess it's not headed my way?

I was a few miles north of where it hit when it hit. It went from dry to pouring in a matter of minutes, and then it got very windy. It was a little frightening.

To quote my girlfriend when we heard of the tornado warning, "When's the last time a tornado hit downtown Atlanta?"

what is with all these tornados this year...there is more warning than i can remember since living here

It's that damned Global Warming you guys... Al Gore was rig....HAHA HA! I am just joking guys but seriously, I remember there being alot of tornadoes when I was younger. Only in the past few years do I remember there not being a good number of them. It's not like we're not in the prime place for a tornado. With Florida as our neighbors and as many mobile home parks that are in GA, we're begging for them.

Speaking of, I was watching the news and they had a town marked near Douglasville called The Village Mobile Home Park.

Wow - that train of storms that's just a bit North of us keeps beating up Cherokee County through Forsyth county...scary stuff.

The weather guy just said there was hail that was 2.5" in the area where Cherokee/Forsyth/North Fulton counties meet.

ahh crap just looked at the weather map we are in the space where nothing is going on but there is a nice couple red spots headed this way

Yeah, it's been overcast here and then drizzling on and off this afternoon...it's just above us.

I'm like 5 miknutes from where that area is. This reminds of the tornado that went through the Lake Lanier area a few years back. We saw a tree in the middle of a school in the aftermath from that.
