Brian MP5T said:Your speed is determined by the radius of the tire and the rotational speed of the tire. The tire speed is based on the speed of the shafts and the shafts spin the speed of the Diff. Depending on what gear you are in (Lets say 5th) a car with 100 Hp and a car with 6000Hp will both top out at the same speed if the tranny gearing is the same... "Your redline" will determine how fast you can go. Once you hit it, you must stop or your engine will be destroyed quickly. Unless you change the redline or the gearing in the car, no matter how many more HP you think your "Mods" have givien you, the car will simply not go any faster.
...It will however get to the top speed faster.
.........this is were your final drive comes into play.
something that has like a 4.5to1 will accelarate quik, but have a low top speed
but if you have a 2to 1 then you will accelarate slowly, but have a very high top speed.
there are lots of things you can argue about one this thread, but the origanal question just asked what the MSP's top speed is from the factory.
