Top Gear koenigsegg CCX crash

damn, yea, that is pretty bad. 130mph into that tire wall, so, who pays for that?

That wasn't a major crash, that was driving into a field of grass

uh yeah but the cracked facade of a ccx that runs roughly 385,000 ??? the romp into the tire wall and field probably did around 15k (us) minimum to the undercarriage and front end. not to mention if any of the suspension components got tweaked, etc. cars like that can easily rack up 50k in damage in a few seconds.

as for who pays that would be top gear thru the insurance premium they pay for each rig they test. how it works, shows have to be bonded into the millions based on how many cars they test at a time. with production schedules sometimes shows have three or more cars lent to them for taping.

the show has to carry huge policies to ensure that nothing happens, like crashing, even ever so slightly, a ccx.

Yikes, I bet he was scared shitless when he went off. Not for his life or injuring himself, but for the poor car, lol. It sure did eat that tire up pretty good. Luckily, it's a rear mounted engine, or that would be way more expensive! That carbon fibre front end sure held up pretty good though, better than I first expected.

no mention of repair but like i said a hand made car from sweden....no us dealers. no us service. and on top of that a carbon fiber platform??? cant see how the total wouldn't be less than 15k. side note: a buddy of mine in ny, his neighbor has a cc that he bought used and it was still 200k. he has put a little over 100 miles on it cause there is no one around that will touch it for maintenance. still trying to get at least a ride in it but he wants to drive my dad and mine project viper that dynoed at 1000hp on the crank but i have yet to drive it.... the wait continues.
