well i bought my msp about 4 months ago thinking it would be a good platform. dont get me wrong i love the car. but modding is a different story. everything is outrageously priced. s***, the parts for STI's are half as expensive as MSP'S. Why are the parts for the MSP so expensive? Its not like they give huuuuuuuuuuge gains. (FMIC's= MSP-1400, any other car 600-1000, same with downpipes and exhaust or whatever else for the car) This is really upsetting because like i said i love my MSP. people let me know. please

It's called limited production.

When you have less demand, you have less supply. Basic economics. This was a big reason I had such a hard time deciding to trade in my SRT-4 over the MSP. There are hundreds of vendors with cheaper parts for the SRT-4, but in the end I decided that the limited aspect of the MSP was something that I enjoyed too mich. That and the the fact that the MSP is just too much fun to drive.

The SCCA class roster up here has over 30 permantently assigned numbers for STi's in SM. We have redubbed it "Subaru Mod." there are only three active MSP's in the entire NW.

Products are more expensive because the market is obviously alot smaller. I think we should be thankful that there is enough interest that vendors have developed the current selection of aftermarket items. Besides, there are only a number of things you can do to a MSP before requiring forged internals in order to have a significant amount of added horsepower.

yes all protege's are expensive. but think..........how many sti's are modded by you vs how many protege's? i like the origionality. if you want to do mod's for cheap buy a honda!!

well said the limited production on a MSP causes for products not to be so much mass produced and they are more on a you need a part we order it basis. Also since not many companies do make aftermarket parts for the MSP the companies can once again charge what they want b/c they know most people with buy the product anyway if they have no other options

limited car = limited supply....manufacturers/distrubutors know when they produce a part that is for a limited production vehicle they can get away with jacking the price up, b/c if people wanna mod their car, their gonna pay the money to find the right parts & find someone who produces them. Half assing or ghetto rigging things in these cars dont cut it (this isnt a Honda). Power = some serious money...At least you own a rare car that doesnt involve daily repairs constantly and its reliable, hence trying to own a RX-7 & repairs on that

Mind you, your going to need a clutch down the and hopefully you dont crack your lds or pop your motor. uh oh... dont be sceeerd now!

agreed. people always ask me why i put a turbo on a protege, coming from like ricers and $hit. shows you how many people actually know what a msp is. i like that, even though they arent the fastest things in the world, they are fun to drive and even funner when modded. just get one thing at a time and enjoy its significance and then go to the next

thats what i like...nobody seems to know them, you can take them by surprise...like I said before, I had an STi, and everyone expects you to be fast...but when you pass them on your Pro, they just cant belive it...hehehe.

i thought it was the other way around. parts for the wrx seem to be more expensive than for the pro. altough, i never had an msp so i don't know.
