well, i think i need to reconsider the way i drive

lets see, i went throught the stock dunlops in 5000 miles (down to the wear bars, even wear all the way around)

my new yoko es100s with only 6000 miles on them are down to the wear bars.... sigh, I have only had them for like 5 months

sigh

if you've gone through two sets of tires in under 12000 miles i can only imagine what condition your struts are in. you must take turns like a bat out of hell just like me. i however am still on the orig tires but only 14500 mile so far. hell they are only tires...you can always buy more, right?

Do you have any suspension mods? You shouldnt be wearing that fast. Are they wearing even? Are they getting scalloped? Check your tire pressure? I dont know (dunno)

If they are wearing evenly aren't they covered by a treadlife warranty (the yoks)... or since they are high performance tires do they have no treadwear guarantee?

But it's an addiction. Mine are going faster and faster too, and so are my brakes.

I know its is an addiction. i have it to. its very hard to control sometimes. when i see really curvy roads i get as gitty as a little school girl and push harder on the throttle. i just cant wait till i get more power and improve my suspension.....oh hells yeah (drive) (flash)

GOD DAMN.. and i thought i was bad wearing through the dunlops in 15000 miles, and a set of kumho 712's in another 15k miles. I drive like an a-hole all the time, and take corners as hard as i can just for fun.... somethin just aint right on your car man. I couldn't have worn my tires any quicker if i was auto-x'ing on em!

God damn..5k miles on the stock Dunlops? I have about 21k on mine and I probably still have at least 50% of the tread. When I had my BFGs R1s on my Miata, it lasted 8k miles ( lots of weekend autox and commuting). I hope your struts and clutch are still holding up. :)

Damn, that's crazy! I run my car hard, I blew the motor from oil starvation during cornering, cracked wheels in potholes, and put 140 miles a day on mine and I SOLD my stock Dunlops at 20K and they had only 1/32 wear! Granted I'm tearing the living s*** out my current tires, but that's because they are super soft, I am overdriving the hell out of the car on the 2 autocrosses I've done, and the car doesn't have enough camber.

mine wore suoper quik when i had them, but thats because i didnt align once i threw the eibachs on.. now im aligned on some 17in yoko's... these things are saaaaweeeet!!

how the **** did you manage to wear out the yokos in 6k miles

i had the es100s on my miata and they lasted me about 15k miles, and i can ASSURE you i drive harder than you do, s***, i am in the mountains 3-4 times a week, every week with 50-100 miles of HARD cornering every night, you must be driving like a moron and sliding around every corner to chew through the tires that fast

remember kids

grip > drift

actually you know what, when I had my ES sedan and I would induce major slide-a-rific understeer on every corner the stocks still lasted me around 12k miles,

what exactly are you doing to your tires (assuming proper alignment and tire pressures)

i have had an alignment done several times, i have eibach springs but no new struts (will be coming soon)

sucky
