2003 MP5
Does anyone else have problems with the tires on the 2003 MP5??? Seems to me that my car pulls me to the left?? Plus for traction wise the blow ballz! I also noticed that they deflate rather easily on thier own?? Today they were at 20psi!! Anyone suggest any new tires?? Relativley cheap!! Thanks

the pull to the left wouldnt be the tires...if anything its the alignment...traction is not too mad IMO, but i have heard of others complaining about them....also if they are deflating on you, ya may have a slow leak

I've got over 40k miles on my set of Dunlops (with some auto-xing). Grip isn't amazing, but it's not bad considering they're all-season tires. It's all in how you drive them.

I must say that I have had 6 flat tires with these things. That's probably just bad luck, but even the un-punctured tires lose about 5psi over a few weeks.

If you want grippier tires for not much money, look at Falken Azenis and Kumho MXs. Just expect those tires to wear out a little faster than usual.

The pulling to the left is not the tires. The total and complete lack of traction in anything other than dry, straight, freshly paved roads is already known with these Dunflops. If you keep the stock rims, a 205-50-16 will fit fine. I got Yokohama AVS ES 100's, and love them. If you search for P5 tire, or somethign like that, you will get a ton of threads already posted and discussed to death about what tires people recommend.

these are what i am getting next time i hae to replace my tires......they get great reviews!

actually, the tire pressure could be contributing to your pulling problem, there was a thread back about a month or two with someone who had one front tire that was leaking faster than the other, and caused severe pulling even with a good alignment. as for tires, I hear the yoko AVS ES 100 are nice, but I'm cheap, going to get the Kumho Ecsta ASX and see how they ride, most people seem to like them on tirerack...

If the next set keeps deflating, you can try a bottle of Slime to cure a slow leak. That fixed a problem we had on our van on one rear Dunlop.

Are you looking for all season, or a summer tire? I have Proxes 4 now, which I love, but they need replacing in the next couple weeks. If I don't get the 4's again, I'll move to a summer tire and I'm considering:
Toyo T1-S (increase air pressure to combat the soft Toyo sidewalls)
g-Force KDW2
Fuzion ZRi
...attempting to stay <$100 each.

As a former tire tech, DON'T use slime or fix a flat...Take them someplace to find the leak and fix them. I have no idea why people think low tire pressure won't cause pulling!?!

Kuhmo ASX or Falken ZE-512's are good inexpensive stock replacements.
