go to a better shop, they are being lazy. any "good" tinter can get it done in one piece and it looks a hell of a lot better.

If you can, find someone who works on Corvettes and does their rear windows in one piece. They're some of the hardest glass to tint due to the compound curves. One piece is the only way to do a rear window, otherwise it looks like complete ass.
i'm in IL and i've got 5% all the way around in the back.
50% fronts, and no tint on windscreen, of course.
IL LEGALLY says you can't have any tints in the front. but 50% isn't enough for a cop to even notice compared top the 5% rear windows. i've never even gotten a glance from a cop. :]

Virginia is pretty picky about the tints.. If you get pulled over or go through a road check here where I live your guaranteed to get check or ticketed.. Its pretty gay if you ask me..
My car which I bought from TX has tinted windows not sure of the % but they tinted pass side front and then all of the back, the driver side front is untinted and I have to say although it looks funny it is pretty good idea since that is about all that they check anyway..

what speed owner drives with their windows up anyway i wanna know! the back i can understand, but i dont even think in rain or blizzard that my windows are up. lol.
Haha...funny you ask that question. My wife demands that when she rides with me the windows are up and the air on even if its 75 outside. Drives me absolutely insane because I love the windows down.

im from chicago and im thinking about getting tints soon not sure wat exactly to do either. I think ima get 30 in front and 20 all around in black. Hopefully the 10% isnt too noticable

ur gunna be chicago's favorite person with those tints.. cops ****** hate them.. yea u can roll down the window but have fun in the winter especially since its cold as **** in chicago

It is too hot in my car so I went and bought 20% tint that I will install on the side windows myself until I save up some cash to get them done at a shop.

Well I got one back side window done but then it got dark so I don't know what it looks like yet.

20% are the way to go.. but i had mine for 4 days and got busted.. so i went down to 35%.. it sucks but its still tinted and ive had them for over 2 years and been pulled over several times.. not once for the tints.. i guess thats because there legal, well plus factory dye there technically illegal by like 2% or something..so i hope i dont get some dickhead cop on a bad day. that would blowww

looks good man..not a bad job at all..nicely done.. 20% is illegal around my area but i saw a toyota corolla S lol with 20% today or darker..so i dunno what i should get..
