Time for new Tires - what to get?

205-55-16's

I'm going to be attempting RallyX in my p5 next weekend. I would like to have a beefier tire for any ruts that may develop. what will the effects of using a 205-55-16 be?

I did end up getting the Falken Ziex's for my P5 when I finally got new wheels, and they're great. Low road noise, great grip, low price, great all around tire.

i'm getting the Yokohama Parada Spec-2 = $80 (best performance-value) summer tires when my second pair of OEM's go. The 205's will look better on my 7 inch rims and i will probably get 50 series. 17k more miles on my dunlops....my snow tires are going on soon.

i was going to do the same untili read reviews from people who bought them. make sure you do research on them and be familiar with the pros and cons of a tire before you buy it. ive been researching for about a month for a set of summer tires.

Has anyone heard of Fuzion ZRi? They are available in 205/45-16 for $72, with a 320 treadwear rating, WR speed rating, and very good reviews.

I had these for a brief week before totaling my 02 DX. OK performance, but really odd sizing. My 205/45-16's looked like 195/50-16's on the car. Taller, and much narrower than any 205/45 I've ever owned, and I've had at least 4 sets from different brands. They looked like were stretched out on too wide a rim. I've had Parada's twice, and if you don't mind the noise, especially when they get past 1/2 worn down, they are hard to beat. And face it, all performance tires are noisier than their more "civilian" counterparts anyway.

I will cast my thumbs-down for the Kumho Ecsta Supra tires. The 205-50 really wants to "hunt" and follow grooves in pavement (badly). I am also suspect that the tires' stiffness across the tread area is a contributing factor to some vicious wheel hop problems I am sorting out.
