I'm not at all saying it won't be, I'm just saying the CX5 I have is loud as hell and I would never have bought it if road-trips were to be my primary use.

I saw a pictured of a lowered 17 and it looked more proportionate. Still think the head on is a step down.

gonna have to look. I'm commonly doing that kind of speed and seems like I get better but, I don't typically use cc when i'm going so far over
Yes, I realize it, and at that rate the car would pay for it self in about 118 years, if you bought it used.

Right, but as a CX5 owner, you know that driving "feel" is all that matters, so it's priceless, and would pay for itself IMMEDIATELY!

Indeed. I was laughing out loud when I was watching his video driving at 90 mph but saw the current MPG readout fluctuating around 11~15 mpg! Sorry, couldn't help it ⋯

It averaged under 15, IIRC, for that trip over about 20-25mi, then I backed off to 85, and reset it, and it averaged 16-ish for the next 20-25mi. These cars SUCK at touring speeds. Total buzzbucket with crap mileage.

I would like to test my cx5 at those speeds but my stretch of highway I take to work, but yeah I'd end up with a ticket. I've never seen so many cops disguised in explorers, pickups, and chargers in such a short stretch of highway. I typically do 75 home in the mornings and yield 28-29. And that's through hilly Maryland I95 territory.

When the 2017 CX-5 first came out I too wasn't too impressed by its appearance, but over time I've learned to love it. But still I was curious why the CX-9 isn't drawing as much controversy. It then appears that the recessed grill on the CX-5 is giving it a "chopped" look (while the grill on the CX-9 is closer in style to the 2016 CX-5). And the rather protruded bumper adds further to the concave feel of CX-5's front.
I was walking to lunch today and a soul red CX-5 was parked in the street. I paid attention to the design front whilst I was walking towards and passed it and I have to say, I really liked the look. More so than the previous generation.
CX-9 is way more beautiful. Its beautiful in close up and beautiful when you step back and take the whole car in. Everything gels well.
On Google search there are two pics of white CX-5. 17 and 16.5 from 10'O clock angle. That really describes what I feel. In many colors and angles the new looks good but once I see that angle its just very odd looking. As if there were two design teams who never communicated and designed front and back separate.
I love mazdas design language since 13 but have to say overall look in flesh for 2017 is max 4/10 vs 16 which is solid 7 or 8. I will post the two pics tomorrow.

I passed a 2017 CX-5 and when looked back from about 100 ft out the front grill area of the 17 looked kind of hollow with just the Mazda emblem visible. Looked a bit weird. But then again it looked sorta nice when I saw it at the dealership.
But think they messed up with the fake leather/vinyl seat in the touring trim . That vinyl will heat up like crazy in summer.

With mostly all-black interior in CX-5, this's expected even in leather trim. When the temperature reached 86F yesterday afternoon, I couldn't stay inside of our all-black interior CX-5 long when it parked under the shade. It's getting too warm in there even with doors opened!
Mazda really should consider making light-color interior available for each exterior color like everybody else, such as gray interior for Sonic Silver. And light-color interior is not just for seats, and door panels; but should include dash、carpet、and seat-belt colors!
That would be nice but again one of the limitations of a smaller independent motor vehicle company...they can't provide every single option like larger companies
