- VW Passat 2002 1.8T Manual
First post in this forum - I've been in the market for a new car as my old Civic was stolen a couple of weeks ago. Looks like my wife has settled on the CX-7 and I just wanted to get some feedback on current pricing.
I have been surprised by the relatively low prices I am being quoted for a CX-7 - I have had one dealer quote me a price of 23,200 OTD (21,600 base + dest) for a 2009 GT FWD with no options in response to a general inquiry email from Edmund's website. As this is about 3.5k below the Edmunds Invoice price I assume they have suddenly received large manufacturer to dealer rebates ( I believe around 4k) and now I'm not sure where the bottom is.
I have mentioned this price to the dealer we have test driven at (a different dealer) and he said he would match it with almost no hesitation. I guess this is the effect of today's economy and the 2010's around the corner but at least it helping us eliminate the VW Tiguan as an option (another nice sporty SUV but the trim level we want is almost 10k over this price).
Anyone else seeing pricing in this range or below? - I guess I need to make an offer below what they have mentioned (and will probably try 1k) but this low an offer is well below what I expected going in.
Thanks
