Hello,

the name's sean and I'm the mazda 6 board mod. I'm looking at relocating to the tacoma/seattle/bellvue area (I need to get out of pennsylvania, its awful) and I was wondering how the scene was out there. I'm an IT guy (sys admin) for a living and seattle seems like a pretty tech savvy city which is a good fit. Other than that, are there any decent mazda clubs out there? How's the car show scene, is it pretty active? Let me know, I'd appreciate any info!

thanks a lot

Sean

Sorry for the slight thread jack but the family and I are thinking of moving to the Seattle/Bellevue area and I need to know any info on the are that you guys feel is useful. Things like what the job market is like, schools, if you know about them, and what are the better areas, especially in the Bellevue area.

Thanks.

I respect your right to disagree, friend.....
but my moms house went from 86k in 2002 to 250k in 2005....
sounds like kinda an empty market....
and rent prices havent increased, neither have wages.... just how much they're willing to finance.... they'll finance someone in 2005 for 250k, but in 2001 they'd be lucky to get 100k ......

Peace.

I agree with this but people Will Not take a loss to sell a house that they just refinanced. or bought just to sell it. So the prices will level. My house has went from 66K to 140k in a year an a half. The rent prices have increased at least here down south, not as much as the prices of houses but it is increasing.

I see what you're saying, If I'd had my s*** together 4 years ago I'd have bought 3 80k houses and sold them to californians for 200k....stupid californians.... then they b**** about losing their tans "up here"

keep this in mind....there is supposed to be a big earthquake that is supposed to create a huge tsunami and a series of them and flood the west coast....just a thought

Hey, I work at Boeing. What job did you apply for?
I will keep my eye out for jobs that are actually closer to seattle (like Tukwilla). Working for Boeing in Kent kinda sucks. I split my time between Seattle and Kent.
If you have any ?s about Boeing, let me know.

sorry, i didnt read all the posts. Boeing will pay relocation (for most jobs.. check the job description... it should say)...

A huge earthquake once in a long while still beats having a few storms in a very short while down south, plus the landslide, plus the wild fire.
As far as natural diseaster free, Seattle is pretty not bad.

Yeah, but this earthquake he's talking about is a world ending one. Probably close to half the population of the north west coast would die in a worst case scenario. IIRC, they're saying if it happened it would be about a 25 minute 9.0 magnitude earthquake followed by a tidal wave that would wipe out any cities on the coast of the US, as well as most of the rest of the pacific.

It by no means beats hurricanes, haha. If it hits, we're FUBAR'd
