the Stance Thread v2.0

lookin good Will!!! haha and yeah gimme a month and it'll be look sexy with a drop and a few degrees :)

LOL i said tread, which he is not poking. his wheel is poking though, not his tire, and it will look fantastic after 2- 3 degrees

well sir excuuuuse mee haha.
and i wont have the mexi-poke when i actually install. i am going to slot the struts like og did and get about 7* there then add in the rear camber plates and hopefully tuck enough to drop another 1/4-1/2" and then ill pull a collar in the front which should put me level... my ride height at the frame is 2.6 in the front and about 3 in the rear

honest opinion, is ~10* in the rear going to be too much on a protege?

your doing a pull... slotting your struts further than even manufacturers do... adding camber plates to get 10 degrees.... all to fit a 8 inch wide wheel.

dont you feel like your doing something wrong? im not saying what OG did isnt good looking, but dont you think with some different sized(offset) wheels it could look so much better, with less effort?

and yes 10 degrees is stupid.

I have -5 in my rear and no poke yay me :)

All I did was slotted a little and bought 2 camber bolt for each strut

im at about -5 or 6* according to my camber gauge. lol
but -10 is way too much and i dont think -10* is possible or needed. after about 5 or so *, you will need to bend or break off the brake line tab, like I did.

i would have to agree. while I'am enjoying what I've done, Im not sure I would do it again though. I get all kinds of compliments, but it was a ton of work to get where I'am and it still rubs, lol
Drives just fine, but the rubbing may be bit annoying for some. with that, I may be in for a new set of wheels when my return comes in. Might keep the 002's for fun. lol

he said after 5* lol thank god i picked the right size.. even if i don't get adjustable camber struts and can still slot enought to be good :)

I'm at -5 and I didn't have to break anything

nice. maybe a bit more on the sedans than the P5's? I had pics of what I had to do, but I cant find them right now. lol
I can snap more if anyone needs them.
yes boostedprotege, it was closer to -5.5*- -6*. thats when I would hear this horrid noise from the brake tab scrapping as I hit every bump. lol

Yes. There is more room in the fenderwells in the sedans than the P5. It isn't much, but for your purposes... it's noticeable.

ok so slotting the struts and rear camber plates wouldnt be smart.. and the 7* on the slotting was a guestimate of what og has currently sorry for being off that bad.

but would it be more beneficial to slot the struts to 5* or use the regular bc camber adjustment in the rear along with the camber plates to get about the same?

yes these wheels arent the easiest to fit but i like the look and it gives a very aggressive stance from alot less then a 16x9 or 17xanything... so i just want them to look proper and not have to flare my fenders to famalia's extent.. just want it clean and hopefully flush... poking rim is fine i just dont want to poke tons of tire when its finished.

well, its not that slotting is bad per say. I have had no troubles at all since I did mine and I canyon run a lot. dont sweat it man as far as the guesstamite. no worries really.

yes, use bc's slot then slot it more. thats all I did. you wont be able to get 5* or more using only the bc slots and plates. just not enough there. slotting would best for your app imho.
they may not be the easiest wheels to fit but they do look good no doubt and they are much lighter than others...like the 527, 521, etc.
you will have the look you want but it will take time. for me, I would lower a little more each week. then make any adjustments, like camber, trimming the part of the bumper tha rubbed, etc.
then the next week, I would crank down a little more, make adjustments, and so on.
oh, you will have to flare your fenders front and rear no question.

the flaring isnt an issue yours look great but like familia as an example flared his straight out and tore them to sh*t to get his wheels to fit. i dont want that haha..

i have the 7/16 drill bit and the heat gun for flaring and what not.. so im ready to go on that aspect trust me haha... im picking up a "dremel"(cheap version of one and im sure i spelled that incorrectly) so shave the bumper where the fenders and bumper meet cause i know that will be a problem spot.

my biggest issue currently is i dont have my coilover wrenches... ex has them and she "lost" them..
anybody got spares??

gotcha. sounds like you're well on your way man.
you can use channel locks instead of the spanner wrenches.

lost em eh? lol i.e- got thrown out after the break up? ;)
